Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to this fine afternoon/evening/morning, depending on where you are, for the first ever Seasonal Rugby Cup Final. The Giants will be taking on the Spartans, in what is a mouth-watering encounter.

JP Wilkinson will play his last match for the Spartans with his future in doubt, and he will put everything into it, and will be playing in the number 3 shirt for the Spartans tonight. AJ Izett looks all set to start in the front row alongside DA Eggman, in what is a fiercesome front 3, and when it lock horns with AJ Parker, SA Flack and AD Funkotron, sparks will be flying.

DG Dafter will need to be on top form against the lock duo of JE McGrath and HT Davis. TA Miokovic will be looking to build on his performances this season, and work on his slightly below par game against the Spartans last time around. What an interesting battle that will be.

The Spartans back row is simply phenomenal. Chung has the technique of a god and rumour has it that Richie McCaw has contacted "The Smelly One" for a few tips. C Laing is possibly the best all round flanker in Seasonal Rugby. His combination of speed, strength and pure power make him a handful to face. M Deane is a powerhouse in every sense of the word. He has ripped open defences this season and has been extremely influential in Spartan victories. That said, BJ Gemmell can more than hold his own against the very best, and has proven this a number of times. SDR Laing is a Great Britain master and will need to close down C Laing and Deane if the Giants are to triumph tonight. MC Burridge is the lesser of the backrow, but a mixture of speed and determination make him an awesome prospect.

BL Hornby returns after his controversial banning and immediately takes the No.9 shirt. He will be swapping clubs with RG Cribb for season 2 and there ancient rivalry will be at it's peak tonight. Cribb has questioned Hornby's distribution ability and Hornby replied with "He can **** right off". I can't wait to see this. E Ames takes on JRE Luffman in the fight of the GB 10s. Luffman will want to prove to his selector that he can mix with the rep players, and I am sure he can.

BH Borisc has reverted to wing and steals SB Wilson's spot to take up the No.11 shirt. He will line up against the big man himself, AP Farnsworth. "Farnikolo" as he is nicknamed by his team-mates, has taken more than one defenders head off with a hand off this season, and will look to add Borisc to his list. On the other wing for the Spartans is AM Farhat. A full back at heart, he has the defence skills to cover all situations and is not too shabby in attack either. AJ Son, another fullback, is lining up against him, in what will be one of the top battles of the night. Son is a pure speedster and will look to dodge and weave his way through Farhat.

P Orr will look to crush Golding, in the battle of the 12s. They look to be very even, and will certainly meet again soon, when the rep teams come around. As the coaches always say "make your first hit count" and both these men will look to do that in this match. The drop goal king MW Scoble reverts to 13 to face up against the up and coming star DA Alessi. Alessi will need to close down Scoble before he makes his tactical kicks and awesome attacks if the Giants backlien are to dominate.

K Fung vs BOY Blunder is the battle most people are looking forward too. The battle of the best and GB vs NSW brings another battle to the field. Fung has been a major part of the Giants success, and Blunder has performed a similar role for the Spartans.

Simming has been expected "when an audience" turns up for the match.

    Great write up.
Most areas can only be separated by a whisker and for every attribute where we better you; you better us in a different one by an almost identical amount.

Going to be so very very close.
    Mouthwatering indeed.

    Let's go Sparta !!!

Na, the catch the ball deep in my own half, and then run 80m or something pass through a whole team beats that. :p
