Interested to know which football (soccer) leagues are watched/followed by the most by Cricsimmers. Also mention your favourite teams.
My main ones are the Premier League, Bundesliga, Bosnian Premier League and the A-League. I am fairly knowledgable about the Serie A and La Liga but don't really follow it to the extent that I do to the above leagues. Favourite teams: Premier League - Arsenal FC Bundesliga - Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg Bosnian League - Zeljeznicar FK A-League - Nobody really. I support the progression of the league and will therefore be following NQF and GCU next season. I hope they do well for the good of the league. Serie A - Fiorentina La Liga - Barcelona (purely because of Thierry Henry)
I also like to follow Dutch national players so Eredivisie is something i'd like to get into more. As for the others, SPL and La Liga are the only other ones I take remote interest in.
Follow the A-League with Sydney FC well now GC United, follow Celtic with Scott McDonald and watch Everton games about every 2nd or so week but only because of Tim Cahill.
I enjoy the theatre of EPL. I like the way the fans react more than the game. The fanaticism draws me in.
Didn't realise it was multiple choice. EPL is the only league I follow religously. ARSENAL!! I keep an eye on Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, all other English leagues, Scottish Divison 3 (Elgin City),
TBH I think that Henry leaving helped Arsenal move on as a football team. Everyone there was overshadowed by Henry so when he left noone knew who where to look for a new player to help the team stay high in the league and they started playing in the way they play today which I think is a winning way when some of the younger players (like Walcott) mature as players a bit more I think Arsenal can definitely win the league. I would bet my life on Arsenal winning the league the season after Sir Alex leaves Man U.
The thing I hate about the EPL is that at the start of the season, ya already know that only Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are a genuine shot at the title.
Refer to this thread on Rleague about that. The bottom line is money. But it's not really that bad though. Because you have different clashes all over the table: the fight for the Premiership, the fight for a Champions League spot, the fight for a UEFA Cup spot, the fight for mid-table security and the fight for relegation safety.
I only really follow the EPL then at the end of the season pay attention to the Championship, when its stabilised. United is my team.
I mainly follow the top two English leagues. Epl is obviously the best, but the championship nearer the end of a season can make great viewing as its so tight for places! Although saying that i do listen out for the major European Leagues like La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga
Graham I have tickets to the Reading Birmingham game last game of the season! Pity it won't be the decider for second place though
