Idea to speed up slimming so we can move onto the next season

I've only just come up with this so there will probably be issues that I haven't considered, so feel free to tell me why it won't work, but here's the proposal.

I'm really keen to get to next season, but the remainder of this season seems like such a chore ahead so it's been slow progress since the resumption which only lasted one round.

What really slows down simming more than anything else is that when I am in a simming mood, I can only sim so many games before I have to stop so people can discuss lineups and name them for all the different comps. I propose that you let me just pick the lineups myself for the rest of this season so I could breeze through some games. If selectors wanted to request changes I hadn't done or whatever they'd be able to in a thread or something, but I wouldn't be waiting around so it'd move faster when I felt like getting through a big chunk of games.

Selectors would still be able to pick their own lineups once it got to the finals because they're important, and then we'd go back to the usual routine for next season once I was keen for doing it the long way again.

Problems? Objections? Thoughts? Am I an idiot? etc

 

That's pretty much what already happens -- people have 24 hours to name lineups in the official lineup threads. Sometimes they take longer than that and I usually give them time but that's the go. The problem is that I can forsee wanting to burn through 3 rounds in a day and then not want to sim for a little bit at all, and the 24 hours wait could kill my momentum.

Basically if selectors still got their teams in before I simmed, I'd use their teams. But I think allowing me to just roll with whatever team I saw fit if they hadn't got a team in would really speed up the process. There are probably problems with it I haven't envisaged though.. it'd be sweet if I wasn't actually part of a team but things could get weird with the Ravens kinda 50/50 to make the finals.
