Idea to speed up slimming so we can move onto the next season

I've only just come up with this so there will probably be issues that I haven't considered, so feel free to tell me why it won't work, but here's the proposal.

I'm really keen to get to next season, but the remainder of this season seems like such a chore ahead so it's been slow progress since the resumption which only lasted one round.

What really slows down simming more than anything else is that when I am in a simming mood, I can only sim so many games before I have to stop so people can discuss lineups and name them for all the different comps. I propose that you let me just pick the lineups myself for the rest of this season so I could breeze through some games. If selectors wanted to request changes I hadn't done or whatever they'd be able to in a thread or something, but I wouldn't be waiting around so it'd move faster when I felt like getting through a big chunk of games.

Selectors would still be able to pick their own lineups once it got to the finals because they're important, and then we'd go back to the usual routine for next season once I was keen for doing it the long way again.

Problems? Objections? Thoughts? Am I an idiot? etc

I don't have much of an issue with it. As a COS I'm just happy for more simmage tbh :p
  3. AVA T Delonge

    Yeah, I like it.
  4. Rego RS Hutchinson

Apart from the inevitable h4x posts I don't see a problem. Get it over and done with.

Or, if people are unhappy with this: Let teams discuss their potential line-ups in their team forums, then when you announce matches, give 24 hours for teams to let you know if they want to make a change - or just look in the team discussion threads yourself

    Anything for simmage

That's pretty much what already happens -- people have 24 hours to name lineups in the official lineup threads. Sometimes they take longer than that and I usually give them time but that's the go. The problem is that I can forsee wanting to burn through 3 rounds in a day and then not want to sim for a little bit at all, and the 24 hours wait could kill my momentum.

Basically if selectors still got their teams in before I simmed, I'd use their teams. But I think allowing me to just roll with whatever team I saw fit if they hadn't got a team in would really speed up the process. There are probably problems with it I haven't envisaged though.. it'd be sweet if I wasn't actually part of a team but things could get weird with the Ravens kinda 50/50 to make the finals.

I don't think many would mind.
  9. Maverick JT Masterson

I think this is a good idea.

Honestly don't think there's enough people left on the site to run teams like this for the foreseeable. Or at least not the right people - I mean, our selector is Rusty.

If Cribbage is picking the lineups I trust it'll be fair, and he'd listen to reasonable suggestions. go for it

As a follower of PEWSian cricketing logic I wouldn't mind.

Not sure the 'Clones even have any of their selectors active for extended periods anymore either, though I guess that could change with regular simmage.

    imperfect simmage >>>>>>>> no simmage
  13. Tartmaster AJ James

    Seems legit
  14. Wilson SB Wilson

I personally think you nailed the semi jew double bluff by simming one round and mass emailing people to get them back before starting this thread 3 months later
  15. Gazza GJ Weaver

    Sounds good. Do eeeeet
  16. Athlai JJD Heads

    You have the Crusaders support.

But yeah just do it. Sim it all up to the finals, give that 24 hour notice and sim it with or without lineups. Getting to the next season is the big hurdle. Its been years. Its been so long i think even rego got laid.

Its been so long Fiery has seen his kids at least twice.

yeah, do it. Send out the email that simmage is back, get simmage rolling and watch all the whores flock back.

Any simmage is better than no simmage, even if it's a little different to what we are used to
  19. Julian BJ Taylor

You'll just pick the most logical teams anyway and I doubt any HoS are going to remember anything about the current season anyway.
  20. MightyPies DA Alessi

Yeah, a balance between activity and form/performance should do the trick I think when it comes to lineups
