Umpiring was pretty poor. Really hope they put a focus into fixing up the interpretation for holding the ball this off season because it has been pretty shit across the 3 finals so far.
yeah fuck me when i see a bloke receive the ball, take four or five steps and be run down, it's holding the ball. when, in the process of being tackled to the ground, the player drops the ball to the ground, it's incorrect disposal. what it is not, however, is play on. Pick one of the two, but fuck me dead that shit is a free against any day of the week.
I know they want to keep the game open and moving but it just makes all the fans and players frustrated.
Holding the ball Incorrect Disposal (Dropping the ball when tackled) Crackdown on throws Blights on the game.
Each of the grass 'lines' are 10 metres so he launched it from 70 out (about 72-3 if you assume he wasn't directly in front) and it landed 4 metres from goal. Genuinely was a 65-68 metre kick. Was kicked low too, very penetrating which means that the wind wouldn't have assisted it as much. Was a 60-65 metre kick before wind IMO which is fucking ridiculous tbf
