CricSim Herald: Introduction Edition By Gareth Weaver - - - - - - - - - - HERALD TEAM EXPANDS By Ed Ames The CricSim community is ultimately divided on issues ranging from the quality of the Pumas’ subforum, to the legitimacy of Geoff Smith’s young children. It hasn’t been since the days of Joshua Ritchie’s Avo Lovers Cup performances that the community has united as it has done regarding the third rising of the CricSim Herald. In the case of Ritchie, it was disgust; but the general feeling regarding a new-look Herald team is of excitement and anticipation. “It's been greatly unfortunate to see Prince Charles's great creation, which he spent countless hours maintaining, slowly fall away since he passed on the reigns,” says CricSim’s owner Robert Cribb. “It's a massive part of CricSim of which the scheduling of matches has been catered to and I'm practically fizzing at the bung to see it back on a full-time, structured basis.” With this in mind, I am delighted to welcome Dave Eggman, Siege Morgan and Lloyd Townsend to the Herald team, on a full-time basis. All of the applicants were of an exceptional quality, and it is with great regret that we cannot afford to bring everyone who applied onto the payroll. But the aforementioned trio were the outstanding candidates, and I personally wish them the greatest of luck. However, it is with great sadness we bid farewell to Heath Davis and Daniel Speirs who look to further their careers elsewhere. - - - - - - - - - - THE CRICSIM HERALD RISES By Marcuss Deane With the dust settling upon the main body of Season 11, with only a select few exhibition matches left to be played, attention has largely shifted to the future which has been heralded by the opening of the contract silly season and the announcement of the basic schedule for next season's competitions. Recently, the spotlight has found itself trained largely upon the recent transfer merry-go-round concerning some of CricSim's largest names and while the ink dries on their playing contracts; there have also been movements made off the field in the top offices of CricSim HQ's press department. The biggest news is that of the promotion of Ed Ames to the head of the table and the position of Editor-in-chief. It has been rumoured that Ames' predecessor had become so disenchanted with his own position at the Herald that he actively head-hunted his own replacement. When questioned about the future of the Herald, Mr Ames had this to say: So there we have the first step towards a new CricSim Herald with a clear vision to regain the plaudits of yesteryear. With a new man at the helm, a man with a sense of purpose and direction, it would be wise to sit tight and watch this space, and watch carefully for the Herald will be back and it'll be bigger and better than ever before.
Nice start hopefully it stays active. Also, spewing I didn't get a gig - I thought I could add something to this but shit happens, especially when there's CricSim politics involved.
Just realised I had to remove myself from the subbie. Looking forward to going back to just enjoying reading the articles.
