I'm not sure you should have a team if you're going to run it Athlai because you're going to have way too much info on it, unless you just pick favourites and don't directly try to win it as such. Which tbf does sound like something you'd do anyway.
He will though, definitely before the draft ends. Could also influence the selection of his final eleven. Athlai's definitely one to get more enjoyment out of things like this from the fantasy of it than the actual competition though so he'd want to follow proper selection processes and pick favourites anyway.
I think Cribb is getting more about how it would effect my playing XI as opposed to my drafting. But he is also conceding that I would fantasy it anyway. Like the time I opened the batting with Hogg in season 1. IT WORKED so I kept doing it.
I've got no issue Athers having a team. If he wants to put the effort in to run it, let him have a team.
Booo @ retentions. 1 player taking the first round pick would be ok - but anything more than that is just rewarding people who happened to pick players that got better over 3 years when that wasn't the aim of the previous draft.
It actually kind of was to an extent - some people used their last couple of picks to pick players they thought would be good in the future. I'm anti-retentions for this season anyway though. The idea of them was to have some continuity between seasons, but given we haven't simmed in several years now and didn't even finish the last season I think that continuity is destroyed and we're basically operating in a different fantasy cricket universe now.
I picked Junaid Khan in round 15. I'm fairly certain Steve Smith, Southee and Boult were round 18ers.
Yeah definitely but we should also be on season 6 or so by now. But I do see this as a complete revamp using the same franchise names and owners only.
James Pattinson got taken in Round 17 or something equally ridiculous I believe. Mousey was due to have a Pattinson/Philander opening bowling combo if we had retentions; we were talking abotu that for ages. He had a terrible team for the season at the time too.
My team has experienced 1 death. 3 retirements not including Lara who was already retired. Only DM Bravo and Junaid Khan will have improved significantly everyone else will have declined or stayed basically the same.
My side would be utter crap probably. Only Pujara and maybe Rehman have significantly improved. About 5 of my guys have retired as well I think. I'd like to see my CWPL batting lineup though. Had all of Bell, Amla and Pujara IIRC.
