Well I'm in the semifinals of the cup now but I think this is where my run ends. Hautapu Hopefools has an epic squad.

I may have to sign up again, seeing as I spend way less time on Battrick now.

Semifinals is a fair effort, I think I made it to the 3rd round.

Im coming first in both seniors and juniors so im happy for my first season.

It'd be great to win the cup but my opponent's strengths are in my weaknesses (i.e. my scrum) which just compounds things. :(

Dire that BR doesn't work with Chrome. I think that is what made me quit in the first place :o.

Not a Blackout Rugby question but a question on a Union PS2 game. Can you get one which has like a superstar mode similar to Madden? Where you make a dude and control him etc?

  13. nz0003 JR Denton

    Dont think there is.

What is the best way to train your players?

  17. nz0003 JR Denton

Yeah thats the main thing I'm having problems with.

No more than two sessions on a single skill due to diminishing returns (just like in BT). The only skills I'd give three sessions to are kicking for the flyhalf, strength for the props and maybe even jumping in a lock. Don't bother training anyone older than 25 because they train waaaay too slowly. Go for younger players just like you would in BT.

    Skills needed for each position:
Prop: Strength, tech, defense, weight (115kg+)
    Hooker: Handling, strength, tech
Lock: Height (200cm+), jumping, handling, tech, strength
Loosies: Tech, strength, defense, handling, jumping
Scrumhalf: Handling, attack, speed, agility, kicking
Flyhalf: Pretty much everything except for tech and jumping
    Wing: Speed, agility, attack, handling
Centres: Pretty much everything except tech, jumping and kicking
    Fullback: Defense, speed, kicking, attack

Also, assuming you all only have L1 trainers, I'd team train stamina and defense/handling (your choice on this one but stamina is an absolute must).

I also assume you're focusing on improving your team as opposed to training players up for rep squads so ideally you won't double up on sessions for skills apart from kicking for your flyhalf in order to get the most efficient use out of your trainers.

Finally, if you're playing a bot or "private" manager, play WNWIM as you get more in game training from it.

My halfback has had 6 training sessions a week on goal kicking for about a year now.

I dont really put that much effort into my team, just checked them though and im still winning my league after 9 rounds, hopefully i can finally get promoted after going so close the last two seasons.

    What's WNWIM?

Everything else is a big help, thanks.
