People will keep saying this and it'll become some sort of well-believed falsehood as history progresses, but it's actually somewhat of a coincidence. The thing that has hurt the Fangs hasn't been activity changes or anything like that despite what Skippos says whenever he opens a Fangs thread; it's selection changes and new recruitments. Over the break, the Fangs lost these two players to first grade: Borisc - 692 runs @ 87; 25 wickets @ 20 Force - 660 runs @ 47; 26 wickets @ 22 Borisc especially was completely h4xing up that comp. Both these players were going to be promoted in the next round whether we had a hiatus or not (Skippos had planned to promote you and Borisc finally signed a contract so he was eligible) so the Fangs would have taken a hit regardless. What made this worse was the fact that two new rookies signed on too. This meant they had to play and better but less active players ended up left out. If you have a look at the actual Fangs lineup: Ochocinco - still active Starris - still active Lee - just dropped down from the BS Ardley - still around, still dominating Townsend - still active; if anything he'd be higher up the ranks than he was just before the break as he was on a break himself then Evans - less active than he was before the break, but actually playing better now anyway Adams - still active Goldenhaus - new player Enny - new player Humble - has probably taken a bit of a hit Veza - had gone inactive way before the break Some of the 'still active' guys are less active than they were before the break, but not proportionally worse than the rest of the forum by any stretch of the imagination. They'd still be around the same rank, if not actually better. Activity changes haven't really played much of a role in this team's demise at all; it's been selection changes and new registrations.
It does hurt a bit that half of our bowling this season in ALC were both gun all rounders and they're now in the BS; It does leave a big workload on Humble and Veza
