    lol Young. FMD.

  2. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

****. Came in the conversation at the wrong time it seems

  3. Cribbage RG Cribb

Equally though.. Harrison has got to be picked ahead of Young, surely. And yet....

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Myles didn't play at all.

  4. Cribbage RG Cribb

I was trying to come up with a hypothetical situation in which MF would have to pick between Lawrence and Hayne for a centre spot. :p

  5. Alec AD Funkotron

    Better than Pearce.

  6. Julian BJ Taylor

    1. Billy Slater
    2. Darius Boyd
    3. Brent Tate
    4. Willie Tonga
    5. Brett Morris
    6. Darren Lockyer
    7. Cooper Cronk
    8. Petero Civoneciva
    9. Cameron Smith
    10. David Shillington
    11. Paul Gallen
    12. Sam Thaiday
    13. Nate Myles

    14. Greg Bird
    15. Tom Learoyd Lahrs
    16. Matt Scott
    17. Todd Carney

    IMO

    Couple of other things:

    - Young ahead of Harrison is disgraceful.
    - I'm happy with Cronk ahead of Prince but considering Thurston is out I can't see the harm in having Prince in the squad.
Could swap Carney and Cronk too IMO.

Only 4 genuine props and 3 centres. A bit silly IMO. Reckon we may well see Hayne at centre just to fit him in.

Well, the only other backrowers are:
    Thaiday
    Gallen
    Lewis
    Watmough
    Young (lol)

They're gonna need Myles in his Easts role at the beginning of the year making 50 tackles.

And the only other props are:
    TLL
    Scott
    Shillo
    Civonaceva

He should certainly beat out TLL for that 4th prop/2nd row spot given that Scott and Petero both play long minutes.

Still, point taken. They are ****ing retards.

  8. Julian BJ Taylor

    Pearce wasn't picked

  9. Alec AD Funkotron

    Still.

  10. Cribbage RG Cribb

    You missed Bird.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them go:

    8 Civoniceva
    9 Smith
    10 Shillington
    11 Thaiday
    12 Gallen
    13 Bird

    14 Scott
    15 TLL
    16 Watmough/Lewis
    17 Gidley

And that'd mean Myles didn't play.

I'm in no way saying it's a good idea.. but it could definitely happen.

  11. Julian BJ Taylor

No he shouldn't That 4th prop spot should go to a genuine prop (TLL) and you also want your best impact forward coming off the bench (TLL).

You should only be carrying the 3 starting backrowers + one on the bench IMO.

  12. Ged GEC King

Yeah. I don't think that Carney over Cronk would be all that disgraceful given the Australian set up. Also, neither are proven origin halfbacks so that's out the window. I suppose I'd like to see Cronk get the gig as a reward for consistency but I don't really care that much.
Of much more pressing concern would be the selection of anyone but Tonga and Tate in the centres.

  13. Wilson SB Wilson

Can see this happening. But Myles will get the bench spot over Watmough and that over-rated hack Lewis.

  14. Julian BJ Taylor

In that case I'd have Cronk on the bench over Gidley and he'd cover a Carney fail anyway.

  15. Ged GEC King

I reckon that the perfect set-up is a prop, prop/backrower and a backrower on the bench. Petero and Scott both average 53 minutes a game this year. Shillington averages 47. Now, obviously the standard is slightly up but I'd expect those three to play 45 each on average. That leaves 25 minutes for the 4th prop. I'd prefer Myles to play 25 minutes up front and still be able to contribute in the backrow.

  16. Ged GEC King

I meant a reward for consistency of performance over more than one season. I don't doubt that either will do a good job because, let's face it, we're playing shit ****s. Chris Sandow could look good.

  17. Cribbage RG Cribb

We have Lewis as well to cover centre if need be.

  18. Julian BJ Taylor

How likely is Lewis playing centre?

  19. Julian BJ Taylor

Don't need a second backrower off the bench contributing when you've got Gallen and Bird playing 80 minutes each.

  20. Cribbage RG Cribb

Given we only picked one spare centre, I think it shows the selectors see him as a possible centre. Either that or they see Hayne as one...
