Errors and part and parcel of the game. The fact that it nearly resulted in a try is extremely bad luck, not representative on any players ability. Pearce had a solid game last night, wasn't great but fmd he was better than Farah & Hodkinson yet ironically gets the predictable bagging.
I don't think it's pedantic at all. The difference between offside and accidental offside is something plenty of people don't pick up on, yet very obvious.
This. Annoys me to no end how people don't know the difference between accidental offside and offside.
One part of Cronks game that never gets a mention that QLD really missed last night was his defence. Your 2 in and 3 in defenders are where all the crucial decision making is made these days and Cronk shuts down so many plays before his outside men are even forced to make a decision through his line speed, ability to read the play and rush the playmaker. His return will make a huge difference to the series and it worries me a little because our structure in good ball zone seems to be Pearce @ First receiver with Hodko (on the left) and Dugan (on the right) as second receivers. Neither of whom are creative players. Our right edge last night was pretty much non-existent because every time Dugan got the ball at second receiver he'd unsurprisingly kill the play. Will be interesting to see if/how we tinker with our structure for game 3 becuase I reckon we'll need 20+ points to win up in Qld.
So that was pretty awesome last night. I really enjoyed the game, even though some comments in here have said the game wasn't that good and most of you have said it's more of a TV sport. I had a great time and loved the game, very exciting.
If he's done the cartilage pretty badly than he will be struggling to be right for game 3 for mine. You can get a clean up or whatever but it takes time, you can't rush that recovery.
The whole 'more a tv sport' thing probably comes from the fact that you really have to watch the game from side on, preferably at halfway to see what's happening and well. I watched from smack on halfway at Newcastle fairly high up and really enjoyed it. Now that I'm older and not a tight ass with tickets and shit I'd attend heaps of games if I was in the vicinity.
Oh yeah I could understand that. I was actually behind the goal line last night and still loved it though, probably because of the atmosphere.
After last night, I definitely noticed it too. Hodges seemed to have no faith in DCE either. Hopefully Hunt has a huge game to start pushing in front of DCE. And also so Bronkers win, obviously. :ninja:
They did it last year too, he'd be having nightmares about Hoffman. It's not really in fairness because he's a poor defender and he brings it on himself.
