2015 Auckland Nines

Holmes has potential, but is a rookie and has more of a chance of struggling than setting the league alight.

Ennis will struggle to keep up.

Who knows what Barba will bring to the table, but whatever it is it will be inconsistent.

    Robson is mediocrity personified.

Almost definitely the worst spine in the comp and I'm not trying to be a wanker here, just what I reckon.

Wilson is so overly optimistic about every signing cronulla has ever made.

  3. Cribbage RG Cribb

Yeah I'm still not even convinced Barba is a first grade standard half. I probably would've picked him at fullback or not at all before Brown got injured.

  4. Magic AJ Parker

I rate Jack Bird but him succeeding in the nines doesn't prove anything, the big question around him is whether he's big enough to play in the second row.

Cronulla surely have to play Bird in the centres. If Barba comes good I think that Cronulla will do well this season. I have a funny feeling he'll do well this season. I think Cronulla having Lewis and Graham on the edges will really allow him to play a hybrid five eighth/fullback role.

  6. Wilson SB Wilson

Yeah he'll definitely be in the centres.

    So...

    1. Holmes
    2. Gordon
    3. Beale
    4. Bird
    5. Feki

    is what you'd want?

    I can't see it happening.

  8. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    Gordon will be fullback.

  9. Wilson SB Wilson

Chuck in a couple of cricsim's favourite + signs next to Gordon and Holmes, you're spot on. Leutele will clearly be there from the start but that's how it'll end up.

  10. Julian BJ Taylor

So if Leutele starts, Bird starts the season in reserve grade? Beale is your first three quarter picked every week and it wouldn't surprise me to see Michael Gordon at fullback and Mitch Brown on the wing.

  11. Cribbage RG Cribb

Wouldn't surprise me to see Bird on the bench.

  12. Magic AJ Parker

Bird isn't a centre, he spent some time in the 20's there to cover injuries but was never very good. Lacks the agility and speed to ever make it as a centre.

He's a second rower every day of the week afaic.

  13. Julian BJ Taylor

Well I don't see where he fit into the Sharks first grade side that already has Luke Lewis, Wade Graham, Jason Bukuya, Anthony Tupou and Chris Heighnington.
