Hmmm...true, but I could hardly ever put a striker who has scored 3+ goals less than a centre midfielder as best player. Gerrard is the first centre mid in a long time to get in the top 3 for goalscoring. And he has been injured quite a bit.

    again, goals isn't everything

  3. Eds E Ames

But important goals are. I bet Gerrard has got more assists than Torres as well.

  4. SM MD Dorn

Gerrard had 10 to Torres' 5

Gerrard has 2 more goals, and played around 900 more minutes, 10 more matches :p

  5. Eds E Ames

    Gerrard - 16 goals, 10 assists
    Torres - 14 goals, 5 assists

Nope. Don't know which games you were watching, but Adebayor has been pretty poor for us all season. The goals just weren't there for him and he couldn't dominate the defence and play the target-man role like he normally did when he was lone striker.

I rate Adebayor; I just don't rate his 08/09 season.

You don't think it's got something to do with the poor quality of ball he's been getting.

You look at the generally average mid feild, and his primary feeder, Cesc, has been out for ages

  9. Hybrid A Kolar

Nope, he's been getting enough chances, but he's quickly becoming one of those ****ish strikers that need about 20 shots on goal before they can get one in.

FTR, Fabregas isn't our only midfielder. The likes of Denilson, Nasri and Arshavin have been effective.

Haven't seen enough of Denilson to judge, but Nasri and Arshavin are both shit feeding mid feilders. Great goal scorers, finishers, but sub-par feeders IMO

  13. Hybrid A Kolar

Whatever. That's your opinion about Nasri and Arshavin, but I still can't see how you reckon that Adebayor has been "excellent" for Arsenal this season.

  14. SM MD Dorn

    Adebayor > Nasri imo

Umm what? What does me supporting Arsenal have to do with ANY of this? They're all ****ing Arsenal players.

I've seen Adebayor play far more times this season than you have (same goes with Denilson, Nasri and Arshavin). I think I'm in a decent position to judge how wasteful he was this season.
