Parramatta are such an emotional team, makes them so erratic.

They look so highly strung right now anything could happen.

It's relatively close and should probably ultimately come to which attributes you give more weight to. But at the very least I think if Tedesco played for Warriors+NZ and RTS played for Easts+NSW+Australia, the media would have the opposite lockstep opinion to the one it does.

I like Turbo and Ponga a lot as well (in fact Ponga is my favourite player) but I think RTS and Tedesco have them covered.

you 12 or something? why's Ponga ur fav player lol?

Trbojevic is as good as RTS and Tedesco but obviously can't be judged the same because of the injuries.

FMD can the Warriors not score a flukey try just once?

  5. AVA T Delonge

Yeah 100%. I think RTS would have torn up QLD last season and everyone would be singing his praises.

  6. Cribbage RG Cribb

    Those try assists on sweeps.

I've always loved a good ball playing fullback. My last favourite player was Moylan, who was largely similar before his 43rd hammy tear.

Yeah Atkins has won Parra another game single-handedly.

I miss your Hayne boner. Those were the glory years.

Well that’s the Top 8 locked in now and you would think Parramatta would hold onto their position in the top 4 with games against the Broncos & Tigers to close out the season.

I get a little bit triggered whenever someone talks about Hayne 2009.

Real Hayne gunness was 2010-11. Sustainable, rounded, wholesome, brilliant. Also didn't randomly get Parramatta into the grand final from a finals placing that shouldn't even exist, which was a plus.

I reckon that run of Haynes in 09 was the most excited I've ever been about rugby league and the best run of form I've witnessed.

Terry Campese going nuts at a similar time (might've been 08) the only thing that comes close.

Still have nightmares of him scoring 36 points against us....

In 2019 or 2020 these 2nd rower blokes were over 120
    - Isaah Yeo (spelling?)
    - Kikau
    - David Fifita
    - Frizell
    - Matterson
    - Harris

And a shed load of locks

  15. Cribbage RG Cribb

Locks are clearly different because they play in the middle and take a lot more traditional hitups. Yeo has played a fair bit of lock in that time as well, and Frizell also did that last year.

Fitita and to an extent Kikau were probably padding those stats out with line breaks and 30m+ runs as a result. While this is obviously fucking awesome for them, it wasn't what Magic was talking about.

I think only Matterson and Harris really compare in terms of what Cordner's role actually is. Maybe Kikau, although he's clearly used diffently.

I think Cordner is over-rated and I appreciate you bringing it to light, but I think you've maybe gone too far in the other direction. I'd be totally fine with him being left out of rep sides but he clearly deserves his place starting for Easts.

Yeo is a lock forward these days, not a second rower. Never averaged over 120m as a 2nd rower.
David Fifita has played half a dozen games this season, bit of a stretch to claim he’s averaged 120m+ over the course of a season.

Kikau I will give you, he achieved it last season although fallen off the pace this year for involvement & as a result only averages 89m.

Frizell I will give you, he’s a gun. Although this will be the first season he achieves it, in his 10th year of First Grade shows you just how hard as a second rower it is to achieve.

Matterson yes has been a very good contributor from the edge in terms of yardage over the past two seasons. Ironically built his game on Boyd Cordner after being his understudy at the Roosters.

And Tohu Harris, yes a gun I’ll give you him too. Again one of if not the best 2nd rower going around in the comp.

So you can name 4? Is that really it, I was waiting for the list of many? Of which only Tohu Harris has consistently average over 120m per game a season.

Now I’m not suggesting you have to make bucket loads of metres to be a good second rower in fact for a lot of 2nd rowers it would be counter productive. However to deny that Cordner averaging 120m+ 7 seasons in a row isn’t representative of his value as a 2nd rower is just plain ignorance.

In that case we better not converse going forward given I am not up to scratch. I'll chat to the other guys. Don't respond to my points or complaints about people like Cordner going forward please. Thanks.

Try hard to think abstractly instead of as a sensor ( yes I went to Mbti profiling)
Locks don’t count apparently in this discussion because it is their job to make metres
Instead we are somehow lauding a select few second rowers who m make 120 metres per game precisely because that is not the overt and primary function of a second rower.
Keep re reading that until you see the academic issues with using 120 metres as a bar of who is a good second rower.
Don’t make me spell it out.

How good some biff, even if it was only one clean punch.

YouTube had been recommending me biff videos from the last 2 decades all week, I reckon I wasn't the only one. How good.

  20. Magic AJ Parker

It was a discussion about 2nd rowers. You made an incorrect statement, realised it and then tried to change the parameters to better suit the argument.
