So I didn't get to see yesterdays games, but I've just watched the highlights, and there was 2 tries scored where the dude lost the ball but had it pinned between forearm and chest, which was deemed as enough control.

Can anyone explain why that is enough control, planting a hand on a rolling ball is enough control.

But Jordan Rapana's disallowed try wasn't enough?
It came out of his grip but he got a hand back onto it and grounded it before it hit the ground.
How is that different from putting a hand on a grubber, and how is it less control than having pinned between forearm and chest?

I guess if you think about it, if you stood up from that position you'd still be carrying the ball with it pinned like that. If you lose it and then just put a hand on top of it - then if you stand up the ball's gonna be on the ground because you're just touching it rather than possessing it.

It's different from the grubber scenario because there are just specifically different guidelines for referees after a player has lost the ball. If you haven't lost it then any downward pressure with the hand, arm or torso is enough, but If you lose it you have to "regrip" it to ensure it's not a knock on. That's just openly stated and has been for a year or two. Whether or not "pinned between forarm and chest" consistutes regripping is up for debate, but I certainly see how and why it's treated differently to what Rapana did because of what I said in the first paragraph.

Hoping Manly take full advantage of their run in the last 4 rounds. If either Souths or Wests make the finals it'll be a joke.

Tolamn would be very lucky to still be holding onto it if he stood up.
Rapana 100% has more control than Tolman did for his try.

Tolmans probably gets ruled a knock on if it had happened anywhere else on the field.

I think the calls were correct as per the rules, I just think the rules are stupid.

Souths will make it. Comp wants them and Latrell in the finals.

Cronulla are the real blessed ones. I posted about it a fair few weeks ago when they weren't in the eight and weren't playing well, but their draw has basically descended from heaven. Even their "great recent form" was built off beating a bunch of teams who not only weren't in the eight but have no real chance of making it (ie. not even in the top 10). They play Penrith twice but every other team they play twice will likely finish 11th or lower.

Everyone should play everyone once or twice. Those should be exclusive options for the regular season.

Option A) 16 teams, play each team once 15 rounds regular season. Extend the playoffs eg ten teams make it.
Option B) Expand to 20 teams, play each team once, 19 rounds regular season, Extend the playoffs eg ten teams make it
Option C) 16 teams, play each team twice home and away, 30 rounds regular season. Reduce the playoffs to six teams.

Option for 2021)16 teams, play each team once, play a random selection on ten teams a second time, 25 rounds regular season. 8 team playoffs.

If we had 1 less Sydney team and 1 more non-sydney team (merge Roosters and Rabbits + Perth team) you could have everyone play each other once and the Sydney teams play each other twice and out of Sydney teams play each other twice.

14 + 7 = 21 games in the season. I guess it would be a pretty big advantage for the Sydney teams though with far less travel.

15 rounds isn't enough and 30 is too much. Not enough talent for a 20 team comp nor is it financially viable.

Merging Roosters and Rabbitohs makes no sense given Souths are a Western Sydney club.

  10. Cribbage RG Cribb

Look I think that merger would be retarded but you can take your definition of Western Sydney back to 1919 where it belongs. If you drew a ring around "Sydney", marked where its clubs are and tried to say the Souffs were western you'd rightly be called a moron.

Great post Lukic- enjoyed your analysis.

Where is Maroon Faithful these days to give an opinion.

    Lads a question please

How do I see Solomone Katas official nrl stats page. NRL.com removes any past players. I am looking for his career tackle efficiency.
Any help with which web site?

I loved Hannay's brutal honesty of calling the Cows last 5 minutes bonehead football. Lol
These players have needed a hard lesson of truth for years and it's always been sugarcoated.

He always disappears at this exact same time every year, then is very active at any other time. If his pattern continues he'll return just before the finals. He used to be a drug dealer apparently, so I get the impression he does this one smuggling route every year during winter when the waterways are less busy and then lives off the profits.

Can we pinpoint his disappearance coinciding with a massive 1.04 favourite losing?

Amy West of Burwood/Concord is Western Sydney.

You can see it in the fashion. Don't worry about geographical borders.

Warriors are moving and shaking their roster
We are negotiating with Hiku and want to keep him
And cutting Nathaniel Roache and Bunty Afoa
I can't see any club taking either of them. Not even titans.

  18. Lukic L Popovic

Apparently the Tigers are interested in Afoa.

    Interesting

On the plus side he often made ten metres per carry per game.

Warriors not resigning Lachlan Burr who is quite a good get for minimum wage.
