    So we're probably looking at:

    1.Slater
    2.Boyd
    3.Inglis
    4.Hodges
    5.Tate
    6.Thurston
    7.Cherry-Evans
    8.Scott
    9.Smith (c)
    10.Myles
    11.McQueen
    12.Gillett
    13.Thaiday

    14.Guerra
    15.Te'o
    16.Lillyman
    17.Taylor

I think the balance is a lot better simply because of the inclusion of another prop but we're certainly weaker overall because of the injuries. Swap Taylor/Te'o for Shillington/McGuire and I'd have been really happy. Alas. We can win certainly, we have the firepower to do so but everything rests on getting an equal share of field position. Kicking game will be vital and I just hope they've recognised that Smith needs to kick a hell of a lot more than he has. When the opposition fullback puts in more kicks from acting half than the best hooker of all time, there's something seriously wrong.

I hate to be 'that guy' but I think a lot depends on the confidence of the players who are carrying injuries. Origin is an arena where if they go in without feeling sure of themselves they're going to get found out and it'll be a big mental challenge to overcome.

Tactically should be looking to limit Hayne's involvement and challenge that Dugan/Hoppa edge all game.

Tipping JT to have a big game. He played really poor in Game I and you could tell he was filthy on himself. Don't think it'll happen twice in a row.

    No, it usually doesn't.

  4. Hunter AD Hunt

If we can hold Queensland to nil for the first 20-25 (or whenever Scott goes off) and Hodkinson doesn't kick like a spastic, we should win.

  5. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

I hope McQueen pulls a hammy before Wednesday.

    What's the latest on DCE?

  7. Cribbage RG Cribb

    Scrub DCE.

Very, very unlikely to play is the word. Couldn't train today again.

  9. Mr Fourex MR Fourex

  10. Alec AD Funkotron

Well...NSW won with Hodkinson, I guess.

We're really up against it now. We've had quite good run with injuries during this reign. Smith and Lockyer here and there, Inglis once or twice, but never all at the same time. Gonna take something special from the boys this time. I mean really special.

  12. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    Not good.

There's still a chance he may play. They're giving him until an hour before the match on Wednesday night. Doesn't sound good though.

    1.Slater
    2.Boyd
    3.Inglis
    4.Hodges
    5.Tate
    6.Thurston
    7.Hunt
    8.Scott
    9.Smith (c)
    10.Myles
    11.McQueen
    12.Gillett
    13.Thaiday

    14.Te'o
    15.Lillyman
    16.Guerra
    17.Taylor

Geez Louise. Fortunately it looks almost certain that Inglis and Slater will play.

  16. Andato BJT Manera

I guess Hunt will have a combination with Thaiday and Hodges but I am a little worried about the combination of Hunt and Thurston in general. I don't think they compliment each other as they play a similar role.

  17. Incey BC Jacobs

They'd be much better off moving Cam into the halves and bringing Friend in. IMO.

  18. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Weakens 2 positions. Smith must stay at 9.

  19. Incey BC Jacobs

    Nah disagree.

    7. Smith 9. Friend > 7. Hunt 9. Smith

  20. Cribbage RG Cribb

Friend's a better player than Hunt but not by nearly enough to make up for how much better Smith the hooker is than Smith the halfback. Hunt's the right call. Friend should be on the bench in place of one of the eighty second rowers.
