    David was a good defensive centre. I'd say he was marginally above mediocre.

    He lives in my area these days. Such a top bloke and a sick PT.

    I really don't think a lot of people understand what mediocre actually means. A lot of you are naming players who were actually poor players. It needs to be players of average quality - neither bad or good.

    So basically players who weren't ever destined for amazing honours, so most but not all rep players would be out.

    You have to forgive that nuance though, I think, Henry. Mediocre is often colloquially understood to mean poor as I'm sure you've noticed.
