So glad I've got to see him play over here, such a legend, and at 39 still rips it up better than most half his age.

    Respect.

    Such a gun

I reckon he would have to have played over 1000 games of rugby league in his life time when you take into account all the junior, school and rep carnivals he would've played as a young fella. I'm sure there would've been days that he played 2-3 games a day of aged group stuff, senior reggies and senior firsts or some such.

Forget peptides, I'd be shooting a couple hundred mills of beaver blood into me to get an advantage.

Certainly won't be far off 1000

Yeah absolute machine. My favouriote beaver memory was the origin he played in the centres off the bench and carved up. (early 2000's ftr)

top effort to play til he was 39!

One of the best forwards I've seen play the game.

    Very big call.

He was better than Carroll, that's for sure.

    knew that was coming

Was such a "before his time" type of player in his playing style IMO. Would've been even more effective if he'd only started his firs grade career five years ago.

My favourite memory was him coming off the bench in Origin after I questioned his selection there, saying he was largely past it, should either start or not play, would have no impact etc and absolutely rattling some Queenslanders with massive defence I didn't think he was capable of. Think it was in 05 or 06.

I'd almost be embarrassed to admit that. Menzies was a genius bench player IMO. He always seemed to be Johnny on the spot.

Steve who? Defs used performance enhancing drugs.

As a Manly fan there were plenty of great moments watching Beaver play. His try in the 2008 GF against Melbourne is probably the highlight.

Probably the only time in my life I've really cheered for Manly.
