Tempted to start a game as England manager... just watch games all year lol. Might be a bit boring though
So as you can see, the EPL is often a 2 horse race between myself and Manchester City, but Arsenal have got really strong in the last 3 years. Fulham should be a force after spending close to 2billion pounds in 20 years, but this hasn't been the case and they have had around 15 managers since the take over, after constant underachivement. SPL is still Old Firm dominated (only team to have won is Hearts in 2017). Eredvisie is wide open once again, Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV are often up there, but Vitesse who are bankrolled by a Iranian tycoon are building a good team. As you can see, France is the dominant country in the world currently, this is a large part due to my CB and CM Wilson and Barre, who are among the best players in the world. Bundesliga has been spilt open in recent years, Dortmund had constructed a great team around their world class Icelandic goalkeeper, but he left on a bosman at the start of the season, so going to be interesting to see how they go. Serie A to my suprise hasn't changed too much, but I feel this is down to no tycoon takeovers etc, which means smaller clubs can struggle to build up like in say the EPL, like Fulham has for example. Though Udinese are a very good team and I can see them breaking the dominance of AC, Inter, Juve, Roma. La Liga, a two horse race, last team to won it apart from Barca / Real is Valencia in 2004, but as you can see, last 4 years Celta has been runner up, under Stoichkov, with a very minimal budget, which is good to see, though their riches are building after some solid CL campaigns. But Barca and Real are two of the richest clubs in the world, so what can you expect? Portuguese league is dominated by Porto, and Sporting mostly, but abit of Benfica as well, can't honestly say I know what or interesting teams challenging as I haven't researched into it too much. Ligue 1 is an interesting one, and is a prime example of a Chelsea like tycoon takeover and getting to league glory, like Stade Brestois 29 have done, they got taken over in 2016 by a Chinese Taipei tycoon, after a few years got a very good team together and have gone on to win 5 of 8 league titles between 2021-> 2028. Champions League has been good as well, as you can see Man Citeh are the dominant European team in recent times, and have won it 6 times now. Including 4 in a row, they are the best team in Europe IMO, they are abloustely impossible to beat sometimes with the finances avaiable to them. Europa League (shown as UEFA Cup on mine) has been good, good to see teams like Fulham, and Pompey win it and Betis. Also bear in mind, Hull's runners up in 2024 was a very good effort, considering they finished 17th in the league after being in 20th in January and 13 points from safety, the great escape if you will. And the European Championships shows that France is a dominant force, though this is starting to fade IMO
Aye, they had a couple of great players come through the ranks that helped propel them up. Even made the WC a few years ago IIRC. Just signed a promising 16 year old NZ newgen who already has 2 caps for yous, he looks very good, holds NZ future in his hands IMO. Hoping to nuture him into a world class player.
