    Gees you talk some shit. Holmes is the best fullback at the club, quite easily too. He's picked Barba at fullback because his form this pre-season had been sensational, and it allows to play Val and Bird on the wing and centres.

    Remains to be seen how Townsend and Maloney together but we've got Ennis running the ruck still and we almost finished in the top 4 last year with exactly 0 kicking game. Looking forward to seeing the change when we can finish off a bad set with a good kick.

    Sharks should be around that middle Top 8 position, they have pretty much the same side with some improvements. They played pretty sizeable stretches of last season without Gallen or Fifita and still managed to grind out victories too.

    It's not. The Sharks don't need Barba to fire to have a good year. They are going to rely more on Holmes, Bird, Ennis and Maloney. Of all the people who are going to be involved in their spine, he is of least value.

    And why do you think he is in the starting lineup at fullback and not Holmes? Like I said, it's a gamble on him returning to his past form and unless he has a shocker in the early rounds that's where he'll stay. In the spine.

    It's not rocket science. I even told you why he's there. For the third time, he has been given first chance at fullback because Flanagan needs to gamble that he'll recover his form from his Dally M season.

    :laugh: That's not really much different to what I'm saying. By playing Barba at fullback you're doing both...you're playing your best 17 AND gambling/hoping that Barba gets back to his Dally M year form.
