hes been trying to comeback for ages now

thing is hes too banged up, hes at a stage where he could kill himself in the ring and so im not too sure if he came back it would be full time. much better off on a lesnar style contract

  2. GYR DW Lewis

There's absolutely no doubt IMO that if he came back it would be in the same style as Lesnar. He has said multiple times he wants to end his career in the WWE.

Bryan v Angle would be fucking sick.

lol I obviously meant when Taker had his matches with HBK and HHH by the reference to those two.

  4. Shri G Shriram

    Oh ok.

Angle wouldn't pass a WWE medical and I doubt they'd want him back anyway.

  6. MASTERS S Masters

    why end it though ?

  7. Paddy P Orr

Ideally I wish it didn't end at all but if it had to I would have gone with any of the ones I mentioned or a decent young wrestler instead of a part timer in Lesnar.

His streak became even more legendary after those matches tho. Especially the ones with Michaels.

It was hard to believe it for a few days, but it has got everyone talking only about the streak, imo took the streak to a greater level. Plus the match was really really poor compared to the ones he had in recent years. The match will always be remembered for the ending.

The streak became so big that ending it was too good of an opportunity to miss imo.

The match itself may not have been as good as those in years gone by, but that's hardly surprising, since Taker is in absolutely terrible shape by the sounds of things.

  11. Roaddogg AJ Izett

maybe so he can end his career where he started.

they will easily give him a legends deal at the very least

  12. GYR DW Lewis

You're joking right? Of course they would want him back. There would be instant monetary value in having him in the brand again.

Yeah it honestly would've made much more sense to lose to a younger wrestler who could hold it above people's heads for the rest of their careers.

It was never going to be as good because they hardly worked on the match beforehand unlike the last 5 matches Taker has had which have been well rehearsed. Also the fact that Taker got knocked out and had to be told what to do didn't help.

  13. hedger OX Gbagbo

I'm not joking at all. Word from the dirtsheets is that Vince McMahon is not high on the idea at all, which seems perfectly understandable to me.

It's not like the E is short on monetary value as it is. And besides, they are obviously trying to user in a new era; you need only look at the prevalent theme in all of the matches and results from WM—and heck, even in the very first segment—for evidence: the future was put over the past.

The only way Angle can possibly fit in to that is if he's involved in one-off matches where he's used to put over other talent. He's a physical wreck and offers nothing long-term, unless they really feel desperate for star power they ought to steer well clear.

  14. hedger OX Gbagbo

Not sure what evidence you have to support any of this.

  15. GYR DW Lewis

Yeah right I'm sure Vince McMahon is definitely thinking "hey we have enough money who needs to bring him in". Imagine if he thought the same thing about The Rock, Brock Lesnar, RVD, Jericho etc etc.

I have no doubt if Angle is ready to return the WWE would bring him in with open arms. Obviously not as a full time wrestler but as a Lesnar type contract which leads to DVD's etc and a future Hall of Fame spot.

There were a few articles that reported they only had a quick rehearsal of the finish and that's it. It also has been confirmed by the WWE that Taker got concussed during his match.

  16. hedger OX Gbagbo

No, he's more likely thinking "the guy is a wreck and might keel over at any moment, and we don't need the hassle when we already have plenty of guys who can draw huge."

They can make as many DVDs as they like already.

This is how all wrestling matches are done, even the big ones. It is normally only the big spots that are rehearsed.

  17. GYR DW Lewis

Haha ok I'll be definitely pulling this quote up in a few months time when Angle's contract expires and he either makes his return at the end of the year or is a surprise Rumble entrant next year.

No this is how normal wrestling matches are done, not with the Undertaker on the biggest PPV of the year though. Didn't take me long to find quotes that back it up.

I don't see how this wouldn't make complete sense either.

  18. hedger OX Gbagbo

Well, I can find plenty of quotes to the contrary, so we'll just have to agree to disagree.

  19. GYR DW Lewis

Please find me a quote where it says the Undertaker didn't rehearse with them considerably? If you do I'll agree to disagree.

Yeah Taker practiced with all his opponents before Wrestlemania. That's what I have heard over the internet for the past few years. Didn't know about the Lesnar thing tho.
