Fairly certain an 8 point try is a penalty after the try is scored, and a penalty try is an illegal play that stops a try being scored. If there is a penalty before you score fairly certain the try is "playing advantage" as such.
There have definitely been times where they had 8 point tries for penalties in the process of scoring.
Possible 8 point tries are bullshit. If there's a penalty after the try they should just have one conversion from right in front. None of this two conversion rubbish which confuses even the players. If further action is necessary then bin them.
I reckon, sure of he just pushed over from close range or whatever, but the cunt came down from about 2m in the air and almost horizontal. Would have came down with enough force to place the ball tbh, Hayne only looked to have arms under it from where I saw it, no body etc.
Whenever I wanted to see why no try was given, or why a knock on was called, they dead set picked the absolute worst possible angle on the replay. It happened every time. My god FoxSports is shitty.
And I dunno if it was just the stream, but the broadcast remained on at half time with awkward silence followed by some guy fondling Alexander's crotch or fly, I shit you not. Just unprofessional.
Sterlo revealed the video refs and TV directors are pretty buddy buddy in their relationship so wouldn't surprise me.
Jack Reed is just a dirty cheat and he tried to claim a try and hope that the replay would prove inconclusive. Josh McGuire tried the same thing here a few years back.
It's been long known by those of us with our own Acme Thunderer that the top referees keep track of how many penalties they've blown. I can't prove it but I've long felt, and know myself from experience, that your chances of receiving a penalty are much higher if you're either losing on the scoreboard and or in the penalty count than if otherwise. They play catch up in other words. I can still recall Harrigan in Origin saying "You had yours over there, this one is theirs." Terrible practice IMO, even if it's unavoidable, you don't make it known that that's what you're doing.
One of Prince or Hunt has to be dropped for next week purely so either Baptiste or Granville to come in. McCullough is just way too shitty right now.
Foul play needs to occur as or after the player is in the act of scoring a try, Norman was not in the act of scoring a try he was trying to beat the last man.
