That's why I said semi-deny. With Cribb, I tend to assume that tongue-in-cheek can be serious at times.
Got some serious work done on the sim today. You can now set your lineup to play one of five different structures and they all work really differently. You can set your structure to change at any interchange as well which is nice.
It's about 90% done. The problem is that the last 10% is stuff I hadn't really planned in while I was doing it and had just thought "Meh I'll figure that out later" and now have no idea how to really implement properly, so it'll be a pain in the arse. The three big(ish) things still left to code in are offloads, support play when a break is made (and the subsequent cover defence) and the clock (at the moment each tackle just takes 20 seconds regardless of what happens ). There are other little things to code that shouldn't be too tricky like reshuffles depending on who's playing the ball, not being able to have a big backline play in the same direction two plays in a row etc but that won't take long. It's mainly just the three things I said.
Gun, though I don't understand this sport. But the activity we'll get from it will be off the radar I think.
This is great Cribb! Regarding offloads couldn't you give each defender a stat for shutting down offloads and then you could combine that with the attackers offload stat to determine the probability/success of an offload during any given play; with the position on the field effecting it also. Even if its as simple as making offloads in your attacking half more prob/succ. You could have a profiency stat run and tendency stat run for each player to pull from. p.s this could be dribble.
Oh yeah that part is all sorted. I just have to code in what happens after an offload. It's all so structured that that sort of broken play is hard to really code in; we may have to make do in our first season with the recipient of an offload just trying to make more metres rather than pass it on again etc. There's no advantage either. Broken play is really quite difficult in general.
Fair enough its already sounds superior to anything else made. Is it too soon to start a CPL Rugby League Draft?
