Provincial Championship Round 1: New South Wales vs New Zealand and ROW

Well, what a day this is for Seasonal Rugby. The first ever Provincial Championship match is on right here, right now. NSW have made some interesting selections and coach Ben Herd almost managed Brad Meyers to put on a NSW rugby union shirt, but the ginger giant is busy with getting ready for origin of his own sport. NSW must be the favourites here as NZ have lots of players out of position, and not many in position. It is calm weather and I am cure that will help the kickers. AS the New Zealand players perform their haka, the atmosphere is electric. Everyone is fired up. Here we go!

AD Hunt has lofted a high one up, and has put it into the New Zealand pack. JR Denton is lifted by Davis and Morgan and forms a maul. Jennings takes it at the back and shifts it to Scoble. Scoble runs a move with DRP Taylor and this looks promising...No. Good tackle from BG Herd stops the attack dead. JR Denton has got to that ruck brilliantly, and has won it on his own. Lovely stuff. Jennings gives Shriram the ball for a pick and go, but Delonge stop him with a massive hit. Lovely tackle from Delonge. Jennings has the ball and tries to make a cheeky chip over the top. But it is a poor kick and is way too short. SM Green claims it without even stepping out of the backline, and runs at the NZ defense. Hard. Kirikiri sees 3 NSWmen on his side and tries to call men over, but Cribb, Armstrong and James are baring down on him. CRIBB RUNS AT KIRIKIRI AND OFFLOADS TO ARMSTRONG! THERE IS NO-ONE LEFT TO BEAT FOR DAVE ARMSTRONG AND HE GETS THE FIRST EVER PROVINCIAL SEASONAL RUGBY TRY. A Farhat gets the conversion and the score is now 7-0 to NSW after a lovely move. DRP Taylor takes the kick away and the game has re-started. Welker claims it, but as he does, he is smashed over the touchline by Chung. Lovely tackle from him. That will have knocked the steam out of him.
