Shame that the Spring is drawing to a close, i'm probably up a couple hundred thanks to the Caulfield Cup but we have the Oaks in about 20 minutes and a couple of great races on Saturday headlined by the Emirates Stakes and the Patinack Classic. Recommend anyone who has an iPhone and enjoys having a punt (and a win) on Melbourne Races downloads the Racing Victoria App. It gives a brief report on the horse and its chances and you can look at its career form on track types and its racing history in its entirety.
Only bet of the day was my multi $25 on Mental @6.00 into Puissance De Lune @ 2.80 Paid $420, stoked with that. Puissance De Lune will be a good shot for the Melbourne Cup next year I reckon.
Got knocked out of the Melbourne Quaddie by Happy Trails next 3 legs got up. Didn't back a winner all day but just hit 2 $6 winners at Cannington and pulled $160 out of some 1950s themed pokie after starting with 10 so I'm well up.
You definitely should man, it's awesome. Get a group together and purchuse a small share each so the financial part of it isn't too bad. Make sure when you go into a racehorse that you and your mates share the same views and expectations or it'll lead to fights and whatnot. Picking a trainer is essential as well. On another note, backed Happy Trials on the weekend at $17 I think it was. Cheering.
I think that before the end of next year I'll have a stake in a horse. Probably get Bede Murray and his sons to train it.
Yeah nice. Bede Murray is a good choice if you want a non-city provincial trainer who can get the best out of a horse. He trains at Kembla Grange and the Kembla track isn't too far from Sydney at all whereas the other pronvincial tracks are. Kerry Parker trains my father's horses and he does a good job, trains at Kembla as well. Gai Waterhouse charges a training a fee of $140 per day. Fuck the city trainers, haha.
Yeah I've got 25 on maxidiv. Waiting to see what happens on tote before I put another 25 on. I put $2 on tourneurs ride at 101-1 fixed just in case.
