47:30: On the edge of the Thunder 22 here. Line out ball to the Escath XV. Oh, that's clearly not straight. That'll relieve some of the pressure. Scrum to the Thunder. Good scrum. Callum Laing peels away from the back of the scrum in possession. The scrum rapidly breaks apart and Smith tracks back and tackles Laing with a thump. A suggestion from the small group of Thunder fans that it may have been slightly high. No call from the ref. Davis follows up and Laing in all sorts of trouble here.

Yep, the ref pings him for not releasing. Penalty. Loughman with the ball here. What's he going to opt for.

 

Loughman kicks for touch. Great quality kick there, right in the corner. That'll be a line out from 5m from the try line.

 

Smith with a decent throw, the Thunder contest this one though...

 

...but that man McDougal shows his class, plucks the ball out of the air. Fakes a pass away to Loughman and instead runs at that poorly deployed Thunder defensive line. Chung tackles McDougal just as he dives at the line. Has Chung got underneath him?

Escath 18 - 3 Thunder

Turning into a bit of an easy ride for Escath's XV at the moment, but can the Thunder turn this around?

 

50:00 to 60:00. Escath XV on the attack, but solid defense from the Thunder defensive line keep them largely out of their 22m. Thunder spend less than a minute out of their own half though. The Thunder forwards look awfully tired.

Harding comes on for Loughman.

 

60:15: Here's Regan Hutchinson with the ball on the half way line for the Thunder. He goes for the grubber. That's through Escath's first line of defense. Ben Jacobs is running up from full back, but Hutchinson is chasing gamely.
