And if Incey picks the ball up and creates a try off that play would it have been a good idea?

...Jacobs there first and quick as a flash, he pops a pass away to Lucas Schaw who immediately shows why he's being touted as one of the most exciting attacking prospects by bursting through the Thunder defensive line. Hutchinson tackles Jacobs to the ground, too late. Schaw is away. Jordan Logan in pursuit, but all he can do is usher Schaw away from the posts. Schaw dots down in the corner, and this is looking alloverredrover.

    Harding misses the conversion.

    Escath 23 - 3 Thunder

To be fair to Rego, it wasn't that bad a play when you're chasing the game in what is a cup final. Make or break stuff. T'was the right option, I reckon.

Into the last 10 minutes. The subs roll on. Downes for Humble, Rogers for Logan and Devonshite for Taylor.

72:30: Great scrum for the Thunder there. Pushing the Escath forward back towards their 10m line and slightly over it. It must feel good for the forwards to see some territory that isn't their own.

The ball is carried from the scrum by Michael Chung. He thumps into a set of Escath forwards and gains a couple of metres before Davis brings him down. Dafter's there too, but Chung has too much support.

The ball comes out into the Thunder back line. Vago attempts a run, but he's just picked Joshua Ritchie out who drives Vago backwards and this time the support just isn't there. Morgan and Downes come in and then Davis drives over the top and that's a turnover.

Harding spins the ball out to Golding. The Thunder defense seems unwilling to make a tackle at him, so Golding gains a few metres before passing out to Schaw. Schaw back inside to Harding. That's an excellent pass and caught the Thunder line napping. Harding is away! The tired Thunder forwards are showing no interest in tracking back and again, only the fresh legs of the full back prevent Harding from scoring under the posts. Try to Escath.

Harding attempts the conversion from a drop kick, and unsurprisingly misses. Shrugs and walks back to the halfway line.

    Escath 28 - 3 Thunder
