Second set. People who haven't done the first set can still do them, so please don't reveal answers in here yet. Some fairly easy ones, but I intentionally put in a couple of really tricky ones. 11. House, two branches of which fought over the throne of England in the 15th century in the War of the Roses. 12. Greek philosopher (amongst other things), founded the Academy in Athens, student of Socrates. 13. President of the United States, was president for almost the entirety of the American Civil War. 14. Polish chemist, first woman to win a Nobel Prize. 15. Argentine revolutionary, key figure in the Cuban Revolution, later captured while trying to spark revolution in Bolivia and executed. 16. German composer, composed Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, particularly famous for its use in the musical Phantom of the Opera and the horror genre in general. 17. Irish novelist, wrote Dracula. 18. English actress, portrayed the titular character in the 1964 film adaptation of Mary Poppins. 19. English computer scientist, credited with inventing the World Wide Web. 20. King of Mali, said to have been directly and solely responsible for causing mass inflation in Egypt and Arabia while on the Hajj.
11 will trick people imo. Fucking love the War of the Roses though, did it in Year 10 and Richard III was our HSC Shakespeare so I should be getting it right.
Incorrect. Too many history questions. It's rare that I'll miss one. If it were current things I'd probably be fucked. Aside from obvious ones.
That's pretty common knowledge, I'd have thought. Especially for someone who's passion is islamic/middle eastern history
