Worst idea - I hate the video ref getting used in 4/5 times approximately they go upstairs in league now you flogs are using it to check behinds ffs therefore stopping the game to confirm a single point score gmafb
Agreed, that decision last night where it was a goal but they said it was "conclusively touched" was ridiculous. Get it right or don't use it.
goal post cams should be at all grounds, the footage last night clearly showed mcintosh touch it behind the line. umpires are just fuckwits
first photo is so misleading anyway. The camera is in the middle of the post and is small, only takes up a small bit. Becuase he grabbed the ball at the back end of the goal line, the 'line' that intersects between the camera and the ball is diagonal - a few degrees out, and makes it look like it's long when if the camera was right on the back of the goal line like this. the camera one angle runs right along the back of the goalline. they need to move that camera if possible onto the rearmost point of the post so when facing forward it faces directly down the rearmost point of the line as opposed to being on an angle.
they also need to stop the frivolous reviews like the pyke/goodes goal today. it was either a goal to goodes or it skimmed off pyke before it went through. but if it was the latter pyke got a free straight in front from the square either way it's a goal, why waste 2 mins reviewing
