pretty happy there. getting birt for less than Hughes a steal.

Thought I had Warner sewn up then. 930K is big $$ to pay but he is a gun.

Doesn't Hughes average 50+ at T20? I doubt Birt's is higher than that.

  9. Benny BS Read

Hughes > Birt in OD/FC but in T20 I'd have them about on par in my eyes.

  10. Raide KN Rask

Damn I wanted Birt, knew I should have gone higher.

Was expecting I'd have to pay big money for Warner.

  11. Benny BS Read

Haha yeah I had 925K on him and didn't want to pay more than that:p

  12. morgieb MC Burridge

Yeah I wanted Warner, but I saw the original bid and I was already strapped for cash.

Should've gone in harder for Hughes, he's a gun T20 player.

Forgot to rebid, would've probably gone for Paine if I had.

average doesn't meanas much in t20 as other formats obv. I would only have hughes in my franchise at a really small cost or if there was no one left to choose. blokes like marsh, pomersbach and lumb have showed that a specialist t20 opener is pretty key to having a gun side.

  15. Skippos SM Morgan

I think Hughes is pretty good in T20 - his game is conducive to scoring runs through the infield even if the bowling's tight.

I think securing an opening partner that compliments him is integral.

Also stoked to grab Nathan so cheaply.

if you bowl leg stump to Hughes he doesn't score at 110 sr IMO.
