I always perceived the Saders fan base to be the really arrogant ones in NZ but the Chiefs fan base is starting to win that title. The Saders are basically the only team that I hate with a passion (Blues to a lesser extent) too. Never minded the Landers or Chiefs (even after we lost to the Landers last year) but the Chiefs comments I've been hearing is opening my eyes up a bit. There are other good teams out there yano. There are streets outside that tunnel ;)

"it killed them the other night"

No it didn't. Yes our scrums got dominated a bit...in the first half in particular...but it didn't "kill" us. You need to chose your words more carefully lol.

 We'll never be as arrogant as the Cuntabs

It did kill you, so did your forwards in general. Your backs had little to work with and apart from some run against the play tries it was a pretty poor performance made lucky by the fact the Canes left 20 points out on the field.

That exact game/ performance from the Chiefs could easily have been a 47-28 defeat and you wouldn't be denying that it killed them. Too often people get blinded by results when talking about how good their team is.

Rego...honestly...it didn't kill us. Look at the scoreboard. I think you are suffering from sleep-deprivation. It's 4.30am there. Get some sleep bro.

I want to change the topic to Barrett vs cruden vs Lima

the canes fans including rego are all saying that barret carved up on Saturday and left cruden in his dust.
a few older heads are saying that cruden held his own.

there was a point in the match right after half time where the canes held possession for ten phases and couldn't gain any metres. Beauden refused to kick it and the canes kept running and eventually the Chiefs turned it over and scored a decisive try.

that was an error by barret and in general he plays one dimensional running rugby.
In the super rugby final last year he ran EVERYTHING and it was too predictable

cruden by contrast did a mixture of running and kicking and in general the Chiefs kicked more on Saturday.

cruden also passed more which was smart due to his number 13 who he wished to feed. Barret knew he had to do it all himself.

my expectation is that cruden will get the jersey, barret is turning into the Carlos spencer option out of the three contenders.

lima has bulked up and is looking quite good.

We were never going to kick back to Damien imo, same thing with the final. Although I still believe Barrett was injured and couldn't kick in that one.

As a whole this season, Barrett has passed the ball 90 more times and kicked it 30 more times than Cruden, he's only had a few more carries but he's made more metres and beaten significantly more defenders.

Now it's obvious that Cruden hasn't done as much because of the way the Chiefs have been playing but this emphasises that Barrett does do all 3 things. I'd say it's a coaching thing more than anything.

Thanks for that Rego
I have tipped the following in my pool.

landers over brumbies 1-12
chiefs over sharks 13 plus
canes over lions 1-12
blues over rebels 13 plus

what do you think?

9. Rego RS Hutchinson

The Landers one is tough, the Brumbies have been very poor in recent weeks with both the Chiefs and Saders giving them a thrashing. I do think the Landers will win it but it's hard to say by how much. How many thrashings can the Brumbies take before they come right again?

Chiefs should beat the Sharks 13+ - The Sharks just can't score points (couldn't score any tries against a 14 man Landers) seems like the only logical option but it's sport, you never know.

Canes v Lions could honestly go either way. Both teams are starting to play well and love running rugby. Travel isn't in the Canes' favour but they're really starting to click. If the Canes play like they did last week (set piece especially) then they should walk away with a win.

Blues will beat the Rebels imo. The Rebels are Aussie's best team atm and whilst it's not a bad team, it's a team of followers. The unpredictability of the Blues makes the scoreline harder to predict but that's what I'd go with.

I swear those score brackets are the worst thing in existence :p

Cheating ftw

on a serious note obviously there will be an inquiry and Rennie will end up in hot water

Most unsportsmanlike thing I've seen in a while....poor form.

Chiefs may get docked points if found guilty.

Boo hoo. Cry me a river Rego. It meant we were down to 14 men and the Canes still couldn't win

 Dream on mate. There won't be any charges. Storm in a teacup. This sort of thing has been going on for donkey's years. It's called game management and no professional coaching staff is above it. Naive if you think otherwise.

I like that me and Fiery as the chiefs fans aren't bothered at all about it. LOL. LOL. LOL.

On a serious note, and this will draw some stick from Fiery and some of the lurkers in this thread, if you are a fan of clean and gentlemanly conduct then you wouldn't cheer for the ABs either. The number of professional fouls the ABs commit when the other team is about to score a try is phenomenal. We are the only country that knows how important a try is in a test, therefore we stop them being scored using a whatever it takes mentality.

Professional fouls is a whole another story. That's maintained by the ref. This is some upper level shit. Refs catch professional fouls, Sanzar catches something like this. Unfortunately with stuff like this it's after the game.

The Chiefs were right in front of their posts with a scrum. Logically going uncontested with 14 players was more beneficial than the more likely 3 we'd have scored. It's one big professional foul that the Chiefs are inevitably going to get investigated and are losing credibility. I don't care who the teams are.

Ever considered the possibility that Tokolahi was genuinely injured, Rego?

Rennie has flatly denied his departure was a tactical move."I'm bloody angry because they're challenging our integrity," he told Radio Sport.
"We've got two injured tighthead props and that forced us to go down to 14 players... it happens, you don't want it to happen but you have to deal with it."

19. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Nah mate, this sounds like smoking gun evidence.

It just doesn't really rattle me.

20. Fiery GR Smith

You're attacking Dave's integrity there mate ;)

Oh well...it's not going to go any further anyway.
