I hate this ref!

Keeps penalising us!

2. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Illegal wheel on the scrum apparently. OMG - the scrum hardly wheeled. If you are calling that I don't know what to say.

3. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Our scrum - 5 metres out.

4. Hurricane JD Hurricane

We kicked it out at the 22m line instead of running it out of our 22. Ball back to Argies. OH here is a penalty.

5. Hurricane JD Hurricane

1 minute to go - attacking line out.

6. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Kick this penalty.

7. Hurricane JD Hurricane

There is only 30 seconds left - not enough time to score a try. C'mon kick it.

8. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Oh well don't listen to me. Haha. Just score a try instead. There is the 13 plus win.

How did the Canes go, Hurricane? (Was watching the Warriors shitshow)

10. Hurricane JD Hurricane

We won by 20 points roughly.

Canes had some key plays where we had good hands. Jaguarres failed to convert in the red zone despited being down there so often. Basically their hands are shit.

Decent win then. Jaguares (Argentina) have been a bit disappointing after how they went in the WC

The team Rego has been championing, the Highlanders, lose to the Reds

The Reds aren't so bad after they sacked their coach. Landers really acting like last year, Smith being out crucial.

Just saw the Canes game (the one that matters for me haha) it was probably our best game (start to finish) lapsed a lil bit around the 65 min mark when some subs went on but they got to work eventually and got the BP and beat the Jaguares in their biggest defeat. The score probably did flatter us a lil bit but we were definitely the better team. Ref missed heaps but probably went both ways. Looking a lot better after that bye so I'm happy. Laumape and Haloholo will be the centre pairing for the rest of the season you'd think. I'll be away next weekend but will be free the following so I'll probably hit the Canes v Chiefs game up, should be a goodie :)

OK. You have home advantage in the Canes v Chiefs game but am willing to put another $50 on that one. Double or nothing for ya.

Ref seemed to have it in for the Canes.

Canes centres are not super rugby standard. Or if they are they below average.

This game proved to me what I said last week. Picking margins is a mugs game. Canes winning by 12 with a minute left, end up scoring a last minute try. They finished winning by 13+ which is what I tipped but it was a mighty fluke.

Yeah I did think that even with my bias eye but happy anyway.

Yeah 1-12 and 13+ margins are a bitch. Handicaps are fine but those margins have always been a killer for most.

I reckon the Rebels could banana skin the Canes. But I said the same thing about the Landers match and they were crushed.

Saders vs Jaguares should be a crusaders win and I would say by 13+ points as the Jaguares are coming off a long tour and have flown in 10 new blokes who can't be much chop. Jaguares need a new coach.

Blues vs Sharks will be a thrashing.

I wouldn't call that banana skin - the Rebels actually have a good squad this year tbh.

Hmmmm I'm not so sure. It's obvious the Jaguares are trying to manage their travel. They didn't have their strongest squad against us or the Blues. I reckon I'd wait until lineups to say anything. The Jaguares have the players there but just need the experience really. They are getting better tbh (less dropped pill) they're the best inclusion tbh because they want to run it and play a good style of rugby. Come next season watch out.

Re the Blues v Sharks game - you'd suspect so but once again the Blues are the red herring team so dunno.

Hurricanes have scored 176 points and conceeded 140 odd
Rebels have scored 136 and conceeded 136 odd

Based on that alone i would say the Canes would be favourites.
Also the refs this season seem to be going out of there way to give the visiting team a fair rub of the green. Penalty count last night was 9-1 in favour of the argies.

Finally Rebels don't seem to believe in themselves or have any X factor players. They are just a solid team. They are the opposite of the Blues. Solid teams don't cause upsets. So I do think it would be quite the upset for them to get up over the Canes.

For their part the Canes with Dane Coles are a different beast. His running game may be shit in international rugby, or at least I might not like it, but in super rugby he is a major threat as much as any of the premier backs in the tournament are.
Canes on offence have TJ, Barret, Coles, Savea, and surprisingly Blade Thompson. That gives them 5 offensive threats. Rebels have no one I can name.

Yeah I'd say the Canes would be favourites. It's the Canes though - no ref has really given us the clean rub tbh.

When does Ardie leave for sevens? must be soon, he's honestly going to be missed. He is single handily the reason we lost the final last year by not playing. Gibbins is a good player but not quite a Savea at all. I've said from the start that when he goes to sevens it'll be interesting. I've always called for him to be an AB and I guess him going to sevens means he'll have to wait another year but he deserves it.

Coles is awesome (probably even more bias being a pram boy) but he's added a lot since he's been back. We've always been the high risk and reward team so it should be interesting.

Julian got to work yesterday and was looking good in his hattrick so I hope that continues. As sad as it is we're not really missing NMS now that Proctor is back. Completely different players but he's certainly solid enough for us.
