Basically this member called Merk decided to host this forum after our old hosts decided we were causing too much bandwith. But he failed to pay for it, so the old forum shut down.
Had to register to get full access. Interesting. Did you pay for the forum earlier or was it pooled in money? Merk was a poster here?
In a nutshell: I was paying for shared hosting, but we got too big so our host basically kicked us out. Merk said he'd save CricSim by hosting us on his plan.. but we got too big for that so he asked us for donations so he could pay a one-off payment to some dodgy cunt who he had a "sponsorship arrangement with" and get us a dedicated server for life. He ended up using that money for one month's worth of monthly payments, and then stopped paying. I don't really know where the deal went sour on his end. As a result of this, though, we lost the forum, the site.. everything. We had to start from scratch.
So people donated to his account because he promised to host it but didn't basically claiming it was a pirated copy of Vbulletin? WAC!! Edit - Never mind.
Since you gave everyone their posts back after Merkgate does that mean that the posts per day is affected by that? Just wondering if I'm the person with the most posts per day after you :ninja:
Oh the old pirated copy of vBulletin thing, haha. Good times. When things started to go awry, he started bringing up half-truths and irrelevant facts to disguise the immense fuck-up.
Yeah, posts per day is wrong for every member who joined before Merkgate. You probably have more ppd than me in reality...
