Technically you are right there are no extrinsic considerations. Players move around due to free will without compensation so there are no binding contracts. But there is an emotional market at stake here that is very real that you are regulating through government regulations. There are real contracts being signed in the contracts thread and players are promised increased utility for switching teams. And occassionally there are tangible compensation packages such as promises of game time or a selector position being promised.
Even if I agreed with you about the "market", it's certainly not a government regulation because this website is privately owned. I'm exercising my property rights. Now that you've got your bite will you stfu?
