    otherwise the 2-3 best bowlers were in south and it would have meant that north got some quality bowling to test and south got little quality etc. etc.

    I disagree. I reckon Corbin is a class act with the bat and will relish the opportunity to score runs at 8. Better than the opposition's #8 anyway.

    Jennings is a classy player but surely there is a better option for the NZ rep side to bat at 8? Not saying Corbin should be dropped or anything.

    Yeah I guess and it looks like Jennings might even be better than Irrelevant with the bat. Seems like bowling allrounders are hard to come by in the NZ set up.

    No way, Jennings and co. are still a relatively strong base ahead of new blokes like %GJ Corbin. I'd be far more likely to have a shot at rep honours.

    I'm not sure. I could see %GJ Corbin fitting in a trial XI at least, especially one so short on batting:

    1. S Bakkum
    2. PM Jackson
    3. DT Petrucci
    4. J Torres
    5. DA Astele
    6. MW Scoble
    7. %GJ Corbin
    8. CW Jennings
    9. AJ Izett
    10. CB Darts
    11. JR Denton

    I've put Corbin below Scoble as Scoble clearly has a much stronger record, but with Denton & Izett to open the bowling, Darts & Astele as change bowlers and a prime spinner in Jennings, I don't think Smith's bowling is needed. Drop him out for %GJ Corbin or bring in Escath I reckon.
