    Nobody seems to be keen on pursuit. The peloton is slowing down.
    As tradition dictates, the morning breakaway composed in major part by second-ranked riders, is beginning to take shape under the aegis of Vincent Baestaens (Crelan).
    Attack by 2 riders. (B.De Clercq, B.Verraes)

    With more than 2 minutes on the peloton, the breakaway is beginning to look more convincing.
    Race update. Numerous riders are attempting attacks to break away from the peloton. Riders prominent in these attempts are : G.Smukulis, M.Irizar
    Several riders have seen an opportunity in the slow pace of the peloton. We have 5 riders trying to create a breakaway. It remains to be seen if J.Debusschere, K.Boeckmans, N.Sørensen, C.Gautier, R.Hunter can agree amongst themselves to make the breakaway

    The gap with the breakaway is beginning to shorten as the peloton seems set on denying them victory.

    This one will be remembered by Tom Boonen (Hoegaarden) for a long time. It's not often that you can claim a win in such a fashion.

    Tom Leezer (Blanco) has fallen inside the peloton. Luckily enough, no other rider has been affected.

    Veterans know that riding at the head of the group is a good way to avoid surprises. Jacopo Guarnieri (Astana) seems to be well aware of that.
