Leumas Himann charges Hutchinson! Hutchinson is left lying in a twisted heap. Surely that was a penalty? No, the ref's seen nothing. Himann lucky to stay on the field, and the disciplinary review committee panel may have something to say about that tackle.

Hutchinson's out for the count. He's stretchered off, replaced by Zac MacDonald.

Sharks score a penalty following hands in the ruck from Quilty.

    Canes 7 - 10 Sharks

    Dire.

Restart from Ames. Dropped by Oscar Wood.

Scrum to the Hurricanes. Clean ball for them, and Quilty passes off to Ames.

Wonderfully timed run from Ames, he surges past Scoble with a great turn up pace and that's a 2nd try for the Hurricanes.

    Ames converts his own try.

    Hurricanes 14 - 10 Sharks

Ames looks to clear, but he can't find touch. Green's the nearest Sharks' player and he takes a great catch whilst running at full speed. He runs diagonally at the Hurricanes defensive line. There's plenty of support for Green and MacDonald and Logan are flanking him. Green fakes a pass to MacDonald, and a gap opens up for him. He slides over in the corner.

    Scoble fails to convert.

    Hurricanes 14 - 15 Sharks.

A Hurricanes attack is obliterated by a massive tackle from James McDougal. Quilty was never going to come off best in that contest, and the turnover is secured.

Half Time Stats - possession is 50/50, but Sharks are dominating territory.

    Come on the draw

Good first half from the team. I had a hand in both of the tries.

Shane Masters bollockses up a gilt edged opportunity for a try. It takes a wonderful tackle from Kelvin Fung to stop him, but really Masters wasn't the ideal person to unleash on a break.

Still, he's brought down only 2m short of the line after he drags Fung a couple of extra metres with him wrapped around his feet. As he falls to the ground, the ball slips out of his hands.

    Danger averted.

Try saving tackle by Sam Green on Alan Parker. Wow. Parker was surely over for all money there, but Green slammed into him from the side, pushing Parker into touch. Great work.

A nasty clash of heads in that ruck. Masters is looking decidedly groggy. The Sharks coach plays it safe and substitutes him. Das is the replacement.

Fisher on for Wood (Laing to 2nd row)
    Wilkinson for Glensor
    Rask for Fittaman

The Sharks fail to clear their lines, and a poor decision to pass to Astele in an awkward position, followed closely by a well timed tackle from Weaver sees the Hurricanes win a good turnover only 7m out from the Sharks' line.

The ball comes to Ames who's seen Taylor on the run on the far touch line. Ames with the cross field kick. Well weighted. Taylor dives at the ball... But he can't get on top of it. That's a knock on. Shame. Good effort.

    Typical coconut hands tbh

This is turning into trench warfare out there as the pitch gets carved to shreds. Witters collapses in a heap. Looks like he's pulled a muscle. Another injury for the decimated Sharks. Hughes comes on to replace him.

If we can't capitalise on this then we're fucks
