The basis for the tackling skill is both position dependent (e.g. Flankers are generally better tacklers than other forwards of the same skill as I recall etc.) and then also dependant on your attack/defence split. As a first-five eighth, you've not got a fantastic tackling base, you've got a low defensive split and a low post rank. However, as first five eighth, you also tend to get right in the thick of the action and get plenty of opportunities to make tackles.
Well. Your low post count and the fact that the Landsharks are massively outclassed by the Conquerors doesn't really add up to you getting many playmaking opportunities in this sort of game. Also, there is an invisible random factor in every player's ability (that even I can't see) so it is still possible to be fucking useless despite having all the right attributes to succeed (c.f. Sam Bakkum, Eddie Morris)
Yeah... Well, if you shunt it up against the reserves of the Gamblers, Vikings and Spartans you're probably gonna be even worse against their first teams. You really need to shine at this level, but unfortunately these reserve games aren't particularly balanced.
