    Nah, now it's fixed.

Who could Argentina play in the quarters... they could upset a few unsuspecting sides.

You'd imagine whoever wins out of Ireland and France.

  6. Starris ER Starris

Ireland then... can't see France topping the pool... but you never know.

Hate to admit it but thought SBW made a huge difference when he came on off the bench today. And poor Milner-Skudder. All he had to do was catch it and fall over.

Question is though how would MF have gone?

SBW was great off the bench today. He's a super-sub and might have shut a few thousand doubters up...for a few days.

Argentina were fantastic. Rock solid in defence.

Great to see Carter's goalkicking radar is finely tuned and Aaron Smith back to his best after some poor games in lead up.

Disgusted with the typically pig-ignorant, disrespectful and deluded English and Argie so-called "rugby supporters" who booed Richie McCaw during the game and especially during his after-match interview. Idiots.

Yeah AS should have backed himself and he might of had another try!

You guys were very dominant for most of that game and should have won by a lot more. NMS and Cane both bombed tries which should have had you winning by over 20 points. Your front row has to be a big concern though, every other area of the game looks fine.

I can't think you can expect much else from the English rugby supporters. The British media tends to whip them up into a frenzy about how much of a cheat McCaw is, so a reaction like that was always likely when he did something which was ultimately a little bit silly.

New Zealand fans still boo Cooper for something that happened years ago.

  14. Escath LE Schaw

There's a reason why home advantage is a thing

That Super 15 game in Christchurch two years ago was disgusting. Every time Cooper touched the ball he was booed.

Yeah but Quade Cooper is a bit of a pillock. He ain't no Richie McCaw.

And it's not like McCaw is a thuggish player on the field or anything but a gentleman and credit to the game off it.

Yeah its a bit rich of us to criticise others for booing McCaw when we did the same if not worse to Cooper. I was always a bit embarrassed by the Cooper treatment but like Escath says its called home advantage for a reason.

Booing McCaw and booing Cooper is disgusting. It doesn't matter who it is!

We can win the World Cup as long as our scrum is average. Doesn't have to be the best in the world. I haven't seen the game yet but getting shunted by the argies is more acceptable than other teams in the top ten. Their scrum has always been immense and right now our scrum is at a low ebb.

in general you need a scrum strong enough not to give away penalties or turnovers anything more than that is a bonus. The game has changed.
In the 1970s the front row was arguably one of the more prestigious positions to play on a rugby team ( but still ranked behind 1st 5 etc)
These days the two propping positions would be in the bottom five positions on the team in terms of game influence. Every position is critical but some more so in terms of influencing victory.

To make my final point teams like Argentina and Georgia would win more games if the scrum were more important.

in the 70s as mentioned it did matter as games were won on field position and territory and a lot of teams played 10 man rugby. A dominant scrum would win you the game because it sent a message and established momentum.
scrums are still important and you will lose if your scrum gets pulverised however.

Was that a home game for Argentina?
