As soon as I quit I saw that I had a $10 bonus through my deposit deal. Stuck it in a .10/.25 ring game and ended up doubling up. Same graph as before Current bankroll: $9.67 Here's the hand that did it Poker Stars, $0.10/$0.25 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite. if you're trying to play seriously stop being a degen and moving up limits, set strict brm requirements and follow them
Move up when you have 20 BIs (2k BB) for a level, which would be 100$ for 5NL, move down if you lose 5 BI at that level so you still have 30 BI for level before. Always buy in full. Put autorebuy in. Should do you fine till like 25 NL. That's pretty aggressive BRM btw, going riskier means you're 85%+ to go broke even if you're relatively good at poker.

Yeah deposit bonuses are always sweet, looks like you are starting to play a bit better now as well. However, I'd be 3betting AKs to more preflop (at least $0.18) and then betting the flop more as well. Good to see you making some progress though. I also just found $4.56 when checking my iPoker account, so I'll see if I can run that up as well similarly to what you are trying to do.

Bit of a degen today. Was bored so had a small flutter at $0.5/1. Ended up alright Current bankroll: $24.85
I'd just be calling the post-flop lead out, but I'm a fairly big nit. Reasoning without any info on table image: - His lead out indicates he got something from that board. Since he's doing it oop with two players behind I'd lean toward the J. (I'm calling on the turn, hoping to hit one of the draws/K/Q and seeing if he leads out again) - Raising is fine though, but now you're projecting a fairly good hand. Raise pre, and re-raising the lead out. You're saying you can beat Jacks. So now your projected range(imo) is AA, KK, QQ, JJ, 99, 33, AJ, KJ, QJ. With AKh, AQh, KQh semi-bluffing. - He 3-bets. Ok so you've raised pre, re-raised his lead out. And he still doesn't seem worried. So I'm reading two pair, maybe 33. I doubt he flat calls the preflop raise with JJ or 99. So two pair vs flush/straight draw, that's 14 outs (4 T's and 8 non T Hearts) twice. Around 50%? So yeah basically flipping.
Gazza, one lesson it sounds like you need to learn is not to rely on individual results as whether it was well played or not. You need to consider plays in terms of ranges instead of individual hands - and that means you don't analyse whether the play was good because it was +EV against this particular hand. You analyse it based on the entire range of hands that you think villain would play like this. However, contrary to 99*'s advice, with 2 overs, FD and gutshot you definitely have to get it in. You are going to be like >60% against one pair hands, and the worst you can pretty much ever be is like 30-37% (as a guess) against a set (which is a small portion of his range). I'd estimate your equity against villain's entire range to be something like 55% here meaning you definitely have to get it all in. It's worth playing around with Pokerstove to get some idea of equities with particular hands, but 2 overs + FD is a strong hand at the worst of times and adding a gutshot gives you very good equity.
Yeah, this is too nitty (and don't use being a 'nit' as an excuse of missing out on +EV plays postflop). It's 2NL so you can pretty safely assume you aren't going to be playing against ranges of strictly 2p+. I think a lot of the time we see random poorly played hands (Jx/9x isn't out of the question) not to mention a ton of weaker flush draws and open ended straight draws. We absolutely dominate all these worse draws and we aren't even doing that badly against sets/2p so there's no way I'm ever doing anything but getting all the chips in.
Lost a $7 SNG so why not throw all of my bankroll into a 1NL game? Current bankroll: $90.82 Total profit: $50.82
