    I've never seen a player close to MacRae's height who is just so hard to tackle. It's incredible how well he evades for a plodder.

    Although I probably reckon MacRae's evasion skills are better than Pendlebury's

    Pendlebury's just a better kick, quicker, more creative, more skilled and better at nearly everything else :P

    Yeah, he's been real good. Decision-making and disposal still iffy, but he's finding a heap of it. Bontempelli is very very good.

    I'm still not sold on McCartney, but he's building a pretty solid list (minus the big guys, but, let's face it, we haven't had good KPPs since 1997).

    I reckon you're about four players off being a premiership contender. A #1 forward, someone to replace Gilbee, another KPD to partner Roughead and a really quick and skilled outside mid. Hoping things work out as I'd love to see the dogs win a flag

    I think Johannisen is as close as we're going to get Gilbee-wise, but his kicking has to improve a lot. Easton Wood is also in the same sort of mould, just a lot better defensively and he's having a great year.

    I'm not convinced on Roughead either. He's tough as bags, but a lot of Carlisle's goals today came from Roughead being out of position - and embarrassingly so. I'm pretty sure his shoulder is cooked at the moment, too.

    EDIT: Actually, Darley is probably the one they have in mind as a Gilbee type. He's still very raw, but a great great kick. Just a shame we blew it so badly on Howard and didn't go for someone like Carlisle. It'd be a far more balanced list in that case.

    Yeah Roughead needs a specific matchup and is probably a #2 guy at best.

    Johanissen looks a good spot but he's probably a secondary rebounder as opposed to the primary designated kicker who cuts apart the zone.

    Wood's a good player. Nice little shutdown option.

    He's also fucking weird because I can't think of anyone who has gone from ruck/resting forward to full back. I'm not sure it'll work long-term either.
