Retiring from OD

Could we do it to improve ourselves in FC cricket like people do in RL. I think if it gave even the slightest boost I'd definitely consider it, but again, it won't be allowed.

    Love it.

  3. 99* JJ Ritchie

Would do it in a heartbeat if offered.

  4. Mousey AJ Son

Would not do it tbh. I like playing both forms.

Decent idea though ftr. Couldn't be a large boost though, otherwise the insentive is too large.

    Stupid idea.

Is there actually a correlation to OD retirement and improving in FC

    Doubt it

I think there definitely needs to be some sort of boost if it was to happen, but not extreme. There does need to be decent advantage to giving up 2/3 of the cricket calender.

Yeah I like the idea tbh. Probably wouldn't do it myself though.

  9. Youngman JE Harding

    Quite like the idea tbh

Cribb not commenting is a good thing, IMO.

All the shit inactive people that wouldnt even make the HC team would retire, giving them a boost over active players.

    Would be shite idea tbh

He made sure he ran away 4 minutes before you started this thread. Scared something immense was coming I assume.

  13. Youngman JE Harding

Activity levels could be a scale of how large the boost is

  14. Andato BJT Manera

Can we retire from Twenty20 or is that impossible?

  15. Rusty RST Downpipes

Oh, and would compromise the integrity and subsequent playing level of the OD comp. Bad idea imo.

This. The better OD player, the bigger the boost.
That makes you a better person.

  17. Verigoat S Verigotta

What players have actually retired from all OD forms just to concentrate on FC

  18. Mousey AJ Son

Nah, a 'decent' advantage is way too much, everyone would retire. It needs to be enough to make people retire and not just go along with i, but not enough to make the competition dominated by FC only players.

    This. Brilliant idea.

Not if the bonus is reletively small. Say, like a couple of hundred posts. It's not going to make a great visible impact, but it is some incentive. I don't think many would do it personally, only those who don't like OD cricket.

All the inactive players wouldn't retire/shouldn't be allowed.
This. And i would ditch it, not a fan of it really.

How does this work in real life? The better you are in ODI's, the better you would be at Tests without them? I can't see how the two relate.
