Premier League play-offs 2009

    Well, Wolverhampton Wanderers (1st) and Birmingham City (2nd) are back in the Premier League for next season.

    Four other teams will play off for the remaining spot.

    Sheffield United (3rd) v Preston North End (6th)
    Reading (4th) v Burnley (5th)

    Discuss.

    1st leg:

    Preston North End 1-1 Sheffield United

    Watched the match. First half was relatively even IMO, not much to report other than Preston were up 1-0 at the break, but the 2nd was totally dominated by Sheffield. Shots were about 12-3 in favour of the Blades at one point which tells you the story.

    Burnley and Reading play tomorrow.

    I expect a Sheffield vs Reading final.

    Proberly Reading as favourites.

    In other play-off news millwall beat Leeds at home, but im still expecting Leeds to win it.

    I reckon Reading to qualify as easy as cake, but am expecting Sheffield, weird isnt it? :p

    It really wouldnt surprise me if Leeds won 3-0 at home or something similar. I believe Millwall needed to get a bigger lead than that.

    TBH, I'm tipping Reading to get promoted, but I really hope Burnley can do it.

    They knocked out both Arsenal and Chelsea in the League Cup this year, so it will be good to see how they go in the Premier League.
