Salaries are an easy fix. Get 5-6 people who pay attention to the sim and know basketball to evaluate everybody and assign them a value based on what garners money in nba contracts. Yeah, get those guys (or any others) to come up with independent valuations and then do a weighted average (maybe put more weight on Mousey's valuation or whatever). Guys can't claim there's any innate bias then.
