FOR SEASON 3 (i.e. what needs to be done before the start of the season) - Slight, random deviations in rego stats. - Injuries - Tool to automatically set match odds for vBookie. - Team Stats: Possession, Territory, Time in Opposition 22 - Individual Stats: Tackles Made, Tackles Broken, Handling errors, No. of Line Breaks, Kicks in play, penalty kicks at goal, attempted conversions, Maul Infringements, - Actually use special abilities that people signed up with. FOR SEASON 4 - Yellow/Red Cards - Kickers having to focus on conversion or out-of-hand kicking? - Cutting lineouts down to 3 or 5 man lines? - Height and weight - Fights Will be adding Weather into the sim before the start of S3. Basically, what I need to know is what impact certain weather conditions will have. Rain ---> More handling errors, more likely to kick bombs downfield... Anything else? Wind ---> Adjust kicking distances Snow ---> More handling errors, increased likelihood of injuries Everything for S3 now complete. Still looking for tips on the effect of weather on a game.
Any weather that may have an impact on how the game pans out rather than on whether you develop melanoma in later life would be better. Also, note to self - one error to fix. The players Running Metres are calculating out at less than the Team's Running Metres as the Team is including Line Breaks and the player stats aren't. Player Running Metres should be higher.
Wet weather tends to result in more of the game being played in the forwards IMO. It's not likely that you'll see a team attempt a sweeping backline move in pouring rain.
Good call. I can increase the likelihood of knock-ons & rucks and reduce the likelihood of open play. That should be enough to make a difference between Wet & Dry and will then mean selectors will have to focus on forwards. Maybe have forwards tire more quickly in the rain so subs are more important?
Yeah, given that they'd be doing more work they'd tire more quickly. Teams are probably more likely to take shots at goal as well.
Hmmm. Good point. Much trickier to change this though. Might be an S4 enhancement, but changing the play probabilities is do-able.
Is there any way to change how likely it is for the ball to spun out to the backs? In rain/snow, I'd assume teams would play more of a rolling game up the middle with mauls and tight little runs near the ruck to nullify the increased risk passing brings.
Fixed. Wasn't quite right. Was only including metres where the player wasn't tackled. Now includes running metres that result in a ruck or handling error. Running metres should be higher from now on.
Right. I've added weather. Three types of weather conditions. DRY, DAMP & WET. Dry ---> Damp. Chance of going to ruck rather than passing increased by about 10%. Chance of going to the boot increased by 20%. Increased handling errors by 50%. Overall reduction in "open play" by about a third. Damp ---> Wet. Going to ruck increased by 0%. Chance of going to the boot increased by about 15%, Grubber chance doubled (from a very low base) and chance of handling errors increased by about another 20%. Open Play chance reduced by a quarter from 'Damp' Sound reasonable? And that is the last change I intend to make for S3 - notwithstanding any bug fixes / efficiency improvements.
When I say "going to the boot", that's the same as a KiP. So yes, that is impacted. I'm not sure how the wet would impact the penalty count though. EDIT: I'm not implementing wind for now, as then I'll need to bring direction of play into the sim, and that'll be a big change. S4, and we're talking though.
