Basically you pick a player to add to your team each person takes turn and eventually you end up with a team of 11 players, then we play each other and see who wins.
Oh and the idea I had if we ran it with smaller numbers would be... An Auction style...Similar to the IPL. Could run it country by country. So in round 1 people PM bids for all Australian players. You would be able to bid on 3 players. Each round you would only be able to win one player. So if you were highest bidder on your first choice player you win him. And all other bids are null and void. If you didn't get your first choice; you'd get that money back and I'd look at your second choice. If you were highest bidder on him you win him etc. If your not highest bidder on any of your 3 choices you don't get a player from that round. Each team could choose an International ground and have an Icon player who is somehow related to that ground. For example Lords-Middlesex-Strauss. We could have a round for : Aus x2 SA x2 Eng x2 Ind x2 SL WI Pak Associates + Bang etc Which = 12 and then 1 miscellaneous draft round where you can bid on any remaining players.
TBH that is a good idea but would tkae ages. That was the biggest problem with the last CPL everyone was getting annoyed with how long it was taking.
Wouldn't take too long at all. Everyone bids in the same auction. Hammer goes down at ??:?? if you haven't submitted bids you miss out. 36 hours per round. 3 weeks and then we start simming.
Problem is if people start missing out on too many rounds then there are players who have been taken away from other players, but aslong as the right people were picked that idea could certainly work. Youre right though in it could only work for a small number.
If Cribb was happy to work it all out it could be run with a larger number. Just means you'd be gambling if you went for 3 big name players and ended up with none. Just I think it would be difficult to think of 20 Pakistan players people would want in their team
Also there is no reason you should miss out on a round. I could pick 3 targets for every round of the auction now, bar the second lot of Australian, English, Indian and South African because I don't know who would be left after the first round.
Well if you had a massive free for all auction it would be massively down to chance. I could bit £1 / $1 / 1AUD for James Anderson in the hope nobody else goes for him and everybody gets attracted to Tendulkar, Chanderpaul, Pietersen and Kallis etc
