It’s more like picking Shane Bond. Great as they come but out of the game for years at a time.

    THIS!

Pakistan won the toss and opted to field.

    10 overs: CricSim 40/1

In a reversal of usual roles, Mahmathlai was the aggressor in CricSim's opening stand, with James more cautious. The first wicket to go down was Mathmathlai, caught as he attempted to uppercut Ashraf over the slips.

    20 overs: CricSim 91/2

Matt James was unable to replicate his world cup form, bowled for a disappointing 17 (35). Oscar Wood found a groove immediately, hitting 15 off a Mohammed Nawaz over to get the innings back on track.

    30 overs: CricSim 138/2

Wood and Delonge eased CricSim into the ascendancy with Wood moving towards a run a ball fifty, while Delonge joined in by hitting Shoiab Malik out of the ground over midwicket.

    40 overs: 190/2

While Delonge found it hard to rotate the strike against the Pakistani spinners, Oscar Wood treated the crowd to a fine knock as he built towards his century. The pair had given CricSim a great chance to attack in the last 10.

    50 overs: Cricsim 289/4

With liscence to go, Delonge was unable to make used of the platform and was stumped out for 63. Bobby Hawke came to the crease and the pair made hay in the slog overs, hitting it to all parts as Wood made a sizzling hundred at better than a run a ball. It couldn't quite last as Wood was lbw in the 47th over, but Chewie responded with a pair of fours to his first two balls. At the other end, Hawke hit a Nawaz over for 20 to bring up a brutal fifty from just 27 balls.

    Pakistan require 290 to win

Very odd lineup this Pakistan side are playing. Not many actual bowlers

    10 overs: Pakistan 54/1

Dyer responded to an early brace of boundaries from Fakhar Zaman by snagging the left hander's wicket, but the Pakistanis regrouped well and established a decent partnership between Azhar Ali and Babar Azam.

    20 overs: Pakistan 133/1

CricSim buckled against rapid half centuries from Ali and Azam. Chris Lewis' start in international cricket was a disaster, conceding 10 from his first over and then 16 from his second. He was whipped out of the attack, but by now the boundaries were flowing and there was little the CricSim change bowlers could do against a surging Pakistan innings.

    30 overs: Pakistan 183/1

Both James and Dyer returned for second spells, but while the run rate was stemmed, neither could gain the breakthrough the bowling side desparately needed.

    40 overs: Pakistan 272/3

With CricSim up against it, Chris Lewis returned for a second spell. After his first over back was a tight one, the offspinner finally broke through as Babar Azam missed a sweep. Two balls later though, Ahmed Shehzad smashed a six, and that is pretty much how the innings progressed from that point.

Azhar Ali was playing the innings of his ODI life, raised a century from 80 balls, and added another unbeaten fifty on top of that for good measure as a few more overs from the spinners disappeared over the fences.

    42.3 overs: Pakistan 290/4

Chad Dyer was able to send the immaculate Ali back to the pavilion, but the opener had smashed 163 from 129 balls.

It was, as you'd expect, enough.

    Pakistan won by 6 wickets.
