Making mistakes is part of the test Prez Its not a speed at how you can type if you do loads of mistakes, its how quick you can type accuratley
Chewie, what is your actual WPM? I legit pushed around 180WPM on this once, probably average about 165WPM on this test and maybe 150WPM in standard typing. I'll post some results up in a second.
Here's my first attempt. I'm on a laptop keyboard and unfortunately don't have access to my usual keyboard on a desktop at the moment.
I see. Do mechanical keyboards actually give you any advantage in terms of your speed? I type on a pretty standard Logitech keyboard and still push some decent speeds - I'm not too far off some of the records for the tests they have done either. Have never considered buying a new keyboard just to type faster but it would be pretty cool if I could improve further.
I don't think mechanical keyboards are the best for typing fast. They're more suited for accuracy, partly because of the feel you get when pushing a key. Depending on which switches you get though they can be pretty noisy
Yeah I know. I also know that I can do a lot better than that attempt - I was in the middle of class with people playing music and running around with water balloons.
Fuck I hate laptop keyboards, gonna give this another shot once I get back on my desktop and see if I can hit 180. I make a stupidly high number of mistakes when on my laptop
Good to see some of you guys will actually be useful if businesses get a hankering to bring back the old typewriter pools.
Got around 80 on average. Which I'm pretty pleased with, considering I've been using a french keyboard for the last 2 days and have just switched back to an English one.
