Despite his distinctly average Test record I expect Ramps to tear up.
You don't average ~100 for 3 years, practically carrying his Surrey side and then fail in a high level domestic competition.
Any others that haven't played tests for a considerable amount of time or are even yet to make their debuts, who you think will go well in this?

  2. Julian BJ Taylor

    Andre Adams
    Phil Jaques
    David Hussey
    Jacques Rudolph
    Chris Rogers
    Mark Cosgrove

  3. Incey BC Jacobs

Rogers will suprise a few people IMO.

  4. Cribbage RG Cribb

The Aussie bats and all the Saffies playing County Cricket should be decent.

  5. Baxter MJ Deane

I wanted Rogers. Definitely better than Key who I ended up with instead.

Since Martin Love isn't retired I guess you could add him too the list.

Decent... but will they be exceptional?
Not just the players who will hold their own but mix it up with the Test players.
I fully expect Ramps to do that itbt. Expectation/hope in one emotion :p

Looking forward to my predominantly non test playing middle order in Ed Joyce, Martin van Jaarsveld and Hlyton Ackerman....

  9. Julian BJ Taylor

I'd imagine they'd be very good without being world class like Ponting, Clarke, Tendulkar, Chanderpaul etc etc.

  10. Cribbage RG Cribb

Weren't you fudging around trying to manufacture an opener at one point? Ackerman's an opener IIRC.

  11. Baxter MJ Deane

    Key
    Ramprakash
    Badrinath
    Fatel
    Symonds
    McDonald
    Foster

    Oooh.... that seems bad
Gambhir being my only current Test player in my top 8.

  12. Julian BJ Taylor

    Isn't he like 60?

  13. nz0003 JR Denton

Should be interesting, van Jaarsveld is the one who caught that sweep shot from slip IIRC, that was pretty awesome

  14. Incey BC Jacobs

I think Ackerman can do both?

  15. Baxter MJ Deane

    Who?

  16. nz0003 JR Denton

Badrinath will be pretty good, I've liked him ever since I saw a series against Sri Lanka where he looked a gun batsman, haven't seen him since.

  17. Cribbage RG Cribb

There are two Hylton Ackermans.. one's sixty odd and one's 36.

  18. Julian BJ Taylor

If I was Incey I'd be trying to fit Razzaq in there probably. He bats down to XI anywayy.

  19. Cribbage RG Cribb

Indeed. Who's actually going to be opening for you?

  20. Incey BC Jacobs

    Atapattu and Smith.
