Placed a bet on the total runs scored in an Aussie baseball game to be over 10.0. I don't follow baseball but I felt like having a bet yesterday while I was stuck in Brisbane airport so I chucked $50 on it at $1.90. The terms and conditions only said that the end result was whatever was posted on the Australian Baseball Leagues website was the final result. Anyway, the bet wins and I receive my money. Then, at 6 this morning they take the $45.00 profit out and send me this email. Hi Ryan (Ryan_G), Unfortunately, Due to a change to the nominated starting pitcher. - , and therefore in accordance with our rules, Run Total in MELBOURNE ACES (Reese, K) vs |ADELAIDE BITE (Fidge, D), and due to start at 2012-01-06 08:00:00, has been Abandoned. Kind regards, The Centrebet Team Fucking homo's.
That's a poor effort from Centrebet. What would have happened if you had cleaned out your account prior to them deciding the bet was null and void ?
They'd have set his account at -$45.00 and probably got the State Debt Recovery office after him if he never made another deposit.
Wasn't sure whether they'd take that option considering the amount and also because it came about through their own stupidity.
I don't get it..... that's like putting a bet on the Broncos to win but then Lockyer pulls out so all bets are void? :/ :/
It's all automatic. Once they voided the bet it'd take everyone's winnings out straight away; and if anyone ends up owing money to them for ages they will pursue it.
Take it up with the government agency in charge on gambling (DIA in New Zealand), they're independant industry regulators, and they will tell you straight up if it's legit or not. Check if any other agencies paid out on the bet
