Quality game. Don't see how Wales can be considered the best team in the Northern Hemisphere when they can't beat the Southern Hemisphere teams though. :ninja:
Dean Ryan's XV of the year 1 Marcos Ayerza - Argentina 2 Bismark du Plessis - South Africa 3 Dan Cole - England 4 Eben Etzebeth South Africa 5 Alun Wyn Jones Wales 6 Tom Wood - England 7 Francois Louw - South Africa 8 Kieran Read - New Zealand 9 Fourie du Preez - South Africa 10 Dan Carter - New Zealand 11 Julian Savea - New Zealand 12 Wesley Fofana - France 13 Jonathan Davies - Wales 14 Bryan Habana - South Africa 15 Leigh Halfpenny - Wales Should have more All Blacks
nah thrilled he didn't pander to us. The 12 jersey has the most depth in international rugby and there were a couple of contenders. dc got the gig based on his rep not form which was injury plagued should have been sexton. du Preez also got it due to his name - but then again I suppose Genia was off the boil and young aaron smith has only recently started to shine. btw that Irish 7 is better than the SA lad. At least based on the one game I saw.
I didnt even think Savea was that good this season. If Smith was a 9/10 for the season Savea maybe was a 6.5 or a 7
Worth pointing out that Dean Ryan is the Director of Rugby for the Worcester Warriors who haven't won a game yet this season. So maybe not the best person to come up with the team.
He's a bit of a hack too, ftr. Massively overrated. He's big, but not enough grunt for a player of his size. No North & Cole ahead of Adam Jones odd calls too.
Sexton's flaky defence probably keeping him out of that side. There does seem to be a bit of a shortage of 10s right now compared to 12s, if Carter can get in seemingly on reputation alone. I'd probably have given it to Cooper actually, having been more notable by his absence in June and his fantastic autumn. Both Aaron and Ben Smith deserve to be in the side, and as Brumby notes it doesn't make much sense to leave Adam Jones out for Cole when the former outplayed him in the 6N and played ahead of him on the Lions tour. Wood isn't even the best back rower in England, let alone the world this year. Rather have picked O'Brien at the very least. Folau stiff as well.
